Minette Elaine Presler Vanacore, 84, of Marlboro, New York, passed away on July 4, 2021 in her home, surrounded by her loved ones.
Minette was born in Marlboro to Naomi Staples Presler and Ralph Ted Presler, Sr. on May 23, 1937. She graduated from Marlboro High School. Minette married Michael Vanacore, Jr. on July 29, 1956.
Minette's greatest joy was God's unfailing help and love throughout her life. She considered her husband, family and friends to be her greatest blessing, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Minette volunteered as a CCD teacher, was a member of the Town of Marlborough Historical Society, was a Girl Scout leader and a dispatcher for TOMVAC. She most recently donated handmade afghans to the Kaplan Center.
Minette is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Michael, at home. Her son, Michael T. Vanacore of Milton, daughters: Margaret Homonchuk (Constantine) and Melissa Carbone (Joseph) of Marlboro. Grandchildren: Philip Donihe, Ludwig Bach (Lauren), Michele Donihe Legernes (Jonas), Amelia Bach Barry (Bryan) and Jordan and Eva Carbone. Great-grandchildren: Ludwig, Landon and Liam Bach and Ase Legernes. Brother: Gary Presler (Mary) of Virginia, her nieces, nephews and her beloved dog Alex.
Minette was predeceased by her parents, daughters: Michelle Vanacore and Marlene Vanacore Donihe, her brother, Ralph Ted Presler, Jr. and her brother in law, Joseph Vanacore.
A special thank you to Minette's "sisters" at St. Mary's Prayers and Squares, Father Tom, Dr. J. Keith Festa, Dr. Nicholas Bambino, the nurses and staff of Hudson Valley Hospice and the doctors and staff of the Hudson Valley Cancer Center.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 8th from 4pm-7pm at The DiDonato Funeral Home, 1290 Route 9W, Marlboro with a prayer service at 6:30pm.
A mass of Christian burial will be offered on Friday morning, July 9th at 10:30am at St. Mary's Church, 1209 Route 9W, Marlboro.
Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lattintown Road, Marlboro.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Hudson Valley Hospice or St. Mary's Church, Marlboro.
