Ronald Cameron (1929-2021). Ronald Radford, beloved husband of Maxine, passed away at his residence, Hillcrest Place Personal Care Home, on Tuesday, March 9, 2021. Ron was the fifth son of Robert and Viola Radford of Keyes, Manitoba. He was born at Pine Creek, MB and attended Livingstone and Keyes schools while growing up in the Keyes area. Ron met Wilma Maxine Tennant of Russell in 1948 while Maxine was teaching at several schools in the Keyes and Neepawa area and they were married in Gladstone, MB in 1952. During the 1950s, Ron worked for Manitoba Hydro and the CPR, working out of Keyes, Gladstone, Woodside and Westbourne. Later, as he bid out as First Man, he worked at Elm Creek, Roland, Murray Park – Winnipeg, Emerson and Marquette. Ron and Maxine moved to Gladstone in 1958 and lived there until September 1963. In 1963, Ron started work at the United Grain Growers (UGG) Elevator, Gladstone with Howard Kerr. Ron and Maxine had their first two sons, Laurie and Douglas, while living in Gladstone. After 6 months training, he was moved to Strathclair as elevator agent. They had their third son Gerald while in Strathclair and spent ten years engaged and active in the community, their children’s education, music lessons, and sports. In 1973, they moved to Rivers where Ron spent 17 years as a UGG manager before retiring in 1990. They continued to live in Rivers where Ron enjoyed golfing, curling and playing music until 2012 when he and Maxine moved to Brandon. Ron was the President of the Rivers Legion for many years, a proud member of the Rivers Masonic Lodge, and was very active in all of the communities in which he lived: coaching hockey and baseball, helping with Scouts and church groups, driving his sons to their rock band rehearsals, and serving as the keeper of the knives and master carver for community banquets. Ron loved sports and was an avid golfer throughout his life, as well participating in curling and other community sports. He was also known as an accomplished and formidable cribbage player. Music was an important part of Ron’s life from an early age. He played guitar, piano, harmonica, and old-time fiddle but was best known for his accordion playing at dances, seniors’ residences, concerts, house parties and family gatherings. He often played accordion duets with his sister Muriel, with various bands in the communities in which he lived and was a long standing and valued member of the old-time band in Rivers, The Friendly Four. Ron and Maxine loved to travel and took their three sons on many camping trips throughout Manitoba and western Canada. In their later years, they traveled to the Maritimes, Québec, Ontario, British Columbia and Alaska to explore and visit family. Ron was a generous, loving husband, father and friend and leaves behind his wife Maxine; three sons Laurie (Miriam), Douglas (Cindy) and Gerald; two grandchildren Mikaela and Kesia; two brothers Barry (Norma) and Keith; sister-in-law Lorna; and many, many beloved cousins, nephews and nieces. The family will cherish Ron’s memory privately. We will all think of him and miss him dearly. Donations in memory of Ron may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba-Westman Region, 437-9th Street, Brandon, MB R7A 4A9.

My Tribute Gift Foundation makes this online charitable giving portal web page MyTributeGift.org (the “Website”) available to you subject to your acceptance of and compliance with these terms of use (the “Terms of Use”). Your donation will be processed through My Tribute Gift Foundation for distribution to your selected charity. Your credit card transaction record will appear as My Tribute Gift Foundation. An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.
You warrant and represent that all information and materials you provide to My Tribute Gift Foundation, through the Website or otherwise, are accurate and truthful and do not violate third party rights. Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.
If in any part of these Terms of Use is held, by a court of competent jurisdiction, to be invalid or unenforceable, such part of these Terms of Use shall be eliminated to the extent permitted in that jurisdiction, for purposes of that jurisdiction, and the remaining Terms of Use shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
These Terms of Use and your use of the Website are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and all federal laws of Canada applicable therein. The courts of the Province of Ontario shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms of Use or your use of the Website.
These Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement between you and My Tribute Gift Foundation with respect to the Website, except as we may explicitly agree otherwise in writing.. No delay or failure to exercise any right with respect to these Terms of Use shall be construed as a waiver by My Tribute Gift Foundation.
As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified. It is your responsibility to review these Terms of Use regularly.
