Mr. Trawick Garner, a resident of Ozark, died Wednesday, November 30, 2022. He was 94 years old.
Funeral services for Mr. Garner will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 4, 2022, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Greg Aman officiating. Interment will follow in the Elam Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at Holman Funeral Home in Ozark Saturday from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P. M.
Mr. Garner was born September 13, 1928 in Barbour County, Alabama to the late John Abe Garner Sr. and Bertha Ocie Trawick Garner. He was a graduate of Ariton High School. Mr. Garner was a member of Ozark Baptist Church and worked with Pea River Electric for thirty-seven years until his retirement. He also volunteered as an election poll worker and a Red Cross blood donor. Trawick enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and playing dominos. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Beatrice Garner Scoville and Nell Garner Ivey; two brothers, Ralph Garner and John Abe Garner, Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Betty Stafford Garner of Ozark; one son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Lana German Garner of Ozark; three daughters, Kathleen Garner of Dothan, Sheri Garner of Dothan; Sandy Garner Smith and Charles Smith of Ozark; grandchildren, Pate Garner Smith (Mary Katherine) of Montgomery, TX, Ashley Foster Barron (Eric), Michelle Parker, Brooke Stephenson Walker (Jacob) , and Jeffrey Stephenson all of Dothan. Seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
