Peacefully, at his home in Vancouver, holding his precious guitar, Landon left his earthly body to go to heaven to reunite with his Grampa Lloyd Craig. Landon recently moved to Vancouver to pursue his music business, he recently launched Beats by Razkil and had many projects on the go. Landon was born in Brandon and raised on the family farm north of Douglas with his Dad Kelly, Mom MaryAnn and sisters Stephanie and Kendra. He was an active boy, enjoying baseball, hockey, skateboarding, golf, snowboarding and skidooing. He spent many hours in the summer swimming, dirt biking, quadding and using the half pipe in the front driveway. Landon’s love of music started very young and escalated after his Gramma (Susan Craig) purchased his first acoustic guitar. It was a passion of his and he began teaching guitar lessons at the age of 15 at Surridges in Brandon. Along the way Landon was a part of many bands, from starting in the basement at home with a full rock band, renting the Douglas Hall to put on their own show (of course mom would have to drive the band), to playing many gigs including Barnes Burner and Battle of the Bands at the Brandon Fair. He spent many of his Brandon years living and creating music at Enclave with dear friends who had many good influences on him. Landon’s family and friends were so very important to him. He always made time for them and made sure he connected with them time and again. Landon lived the most recent years with his Gramma, they may have drove each other crazy but they were always there for each other, making sure the other was behaving and their door was always open to those in need. Landon lived a very “larger than life” life. He played hard and loved harder. He was so proud of his little sisters and teased them to no end, but each having a special place in his heart. When you met him, you were a friend no matter your background. Landon will be in our hearts forever and he knew how very proud of him we are. We are so grateful we have hours of family videos of him all through his years and so many of his performances, jam sessions and just sitting around a fire or living room playing guitar and singing. Landon is survived by his parents Kelly and MaryAnn of Oakbank; sister Stephanie and brother-in-law John Baron of Winnipeg; sister Kendra and her partner Taylor Cross of Oakbank; Gramma Susan Craig of Brandon; grandparents Dave and Jessie Penner of Brandon; aunts and uncles: Larry and Jennifer Penner, Rick and Nancy Penner, Wendy Penner, Dave and Theresa Penner, Lorne and Susan Craig, Dawn and Ryan Mawer, Karen Huska and Bob Huska; cousins Amanda and Jeff and their children, Tim and Heidi and their children, McKenna, Ryleigh, Ashton, Jack, Gillian and Andrew. He also leaves to mourn his many, many friends, colleagues and musician friends/collaborators. He would go to the ends of the earth for them. Landon was predeceased by his Grampa Lloyd Craig, baby cousin Jackson Penner and maternal grandmother Donna Huska. Due to Covid-19 a private family service will take place and Landon will be laid to rest at Sparling Cemetery. My Tribute Gift Foundation makes this online charitable giving portal web page MyTributeGift.org (the “Website”) available to you subject to your acceptance of and compliance with these terms of use (the “Terms of Use”). Your donation will be processed through My Tribute Gift Foundation for distribution to your selected charity. Your credit card transaction record will appear as My Tribute Gift Foundation. An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.
You warrant and represent that all information and materials you provide to My Tribute Gift Foundation, through the Website or otherwise, are accurate and truthful and do not violate third party rights. Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.
If in any part of these Terms of Use is held, by a court of competent jurisdiction, to be invalid or unenforceable, such part of these Terms of Use shall be eliminated to the extent permitted in that jurisdiction, for purposes of that jurisdiction, and the remaining Terms of Use shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
These Terms of Use and your use of the Website are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and all federal laws of Canada applicable therein. The courts of the Province of Ontario shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms of Use or your use of the Website.
These Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement between you and My Tribute Gift Foundation with respect to the Website, except as we may explicitly agree otherwise in writing.. No delay or failure to exercise any right with respect to these Terms of Use shall be construed as a waiver by My Tribute Gift Foundation.
As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified. It is your responsibility to review these Terms of Use regularly.
