In loving memory of Joan Marilyn Skwarek (nee Coddington). August 10, 1932 - August 1, 2020 It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of our matriarch on August 1, 2020, just prior to her 88 th birthday. We find peace knowing she was welcomed into heaven by her husband of 65 yrs., Walter (Wally) Skwarek. Joan is also finding comfort in the arms of her mother, Millie Campbell, her father Earl Coddington, her step-father Bruce Campbell, special aunt June North and great-granddaughter Hannah Millie. Loving and cherished mother of Judy Hunda (David, predeceased) and Barbara Fortier (Douglas Petiticlerc). Loving grandmother of Melissa Hunda (Jean Guy Guenette), Sarah Whiteduck, Becky Hunda (Wayne Porter), Jesse Arnett (Roark). Joan leaves behind eight beautiful great-grandchildren: Braedan, Aurora, Izabella, Noah, Makennah, Lockett, Kaelan, and Hailex, whom she adored. They will deeply miss their beloved Super Nanny. Step-grandmother of Stephanie, Jennifer, Michael, Kristina, Matthew, Crystal, Candace and Cameron. Joan is also survived by her loving sister, Lois Daggett (Jim predeceased) and numerous nieces and nephews. Joan was the guiding light of our family. She was a loving and selfless mother who gave her all to her family each and every day of her life. She cherished every minute spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joan lived for her family. Joan was a very active participant in her children’s, grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s lives. An eager and loving babysitter, she never tired of sleep-overs, cooking lessons, game playing or stories. She avidly supported all the interests of ‘her kids’ and was their biggest cheerleader. Her greatest lesson was how she lived her life according to her great faith in God. Joan was a longtime parishioner of St. Mark’s United Church and was an active member for most of her life. Always putting others before herself, Joan truly showed her family and friends unconditional love. Joan was a chosen mom and grandmother to many, particularly the neighbourhood kids from Martindale Rd. where she and her husband planted their roots from 1956 - till the day she passed. Everyone who had the privilege of meeting Joan found comfort in her loving embrace. She gave freely of her love, food and laughter to all who entered her door. She was truly an exceptional and special woman whose legacy of love will live on forever in the lives of her family and all whose lives she touched. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten. So long beloved one, until we meet again. You can now rest peacefully without pain or illness. We thank God every day for Blessing us with His very best. Heaven has regained an angel by calling home our angel on earth. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME 233 Larch Street, Sudbury. Friends may call Sun, August 16th 12-3:00 PM. Memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM in the R.J. Chapel, Jackson & Bernard Funeral Home. Due to COVID-19 directives, 50 people of less in our visitation room and 80 people or less in our chapel and masks are mandatory. Cremation with interment in the family plot at the Park Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Mark's United Church or the Cancer Centre would be appreciated. Your donation will be processed through My Tribute Gift Foundation for distribution to your selected charity. Your credit card transaction record will appear as My Tribute Gift Foundation. An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.
You warrant and represent that all information and materials you provide to My Tribute Gift Foundation, through the Website or otherwise, are accurate and truthful and do not violate third party rights. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL MY TRIBUTE GIFT FOUNDATION OR ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, SERVICE PROVIDERS, AND AGENTS (THE "FOUNDATION PARTIES") BE LIABLE FOR ANY: (i) INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, COMPENSATORY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; (ii) DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF INCOME, LOSS OF PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF DATA OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY; (iii) CLAIMS OF THIRD PARTIES; OR (iv) OTHER PECUNIARY LOSS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OF USE, THE WEBSITE OR ANY LINKED SITE. Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.

As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified.
