Everett “Tony” Coe Former Employee of the TTC After suffering a recent stroke, Tony passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa onMay 2nd, 2021 just 6 days before his 88th birthday. Beloved husband of Audrey “Babe” (nee Salkeld). Dear father of Janice (Jeff) Brackett; Mike (Janet); Bobby (Helen) and Tracey (Bob) Drew-Brook. Cherished grandpa of Melissa (Mat), Stephen (Laura), Allison (Jay), Shannon (Chris), Jordan, Jade, Tristan, Dawson, Jenna (Kevin) and Shawn (Kirstie). Adored great-grandpa of Travis, Matilyn, Emily, Alyssa, Emma, Carson and Peyton. Tony will be lovingly remembered by extensive family and countless friends. Tony grew up in Toronto. He had four siblings and four half siblings. When he was a child all his friends and family called him ‘Red’ due to his red hair. When he was a teenager and started putting Brylcream in his hair it became a very dark auburn. A curl kept escaping onto his forehead and his friends all started calling him Tony after the Toni home perm. From that point on most people did not know his real name was Everett...even his children! At 18 Tony met Audrey and they married on his 21st birthday. Audrey was ‘Babe’ to her friends and family. She was the youngest child. Over the next ten years Tony and Babe had four children. Tony worked as the service manager for John Pierce Holdings. (He had taught himself to repair machines by taking them apart and putting them back together. It was a talent he never lost. He could fix anything it seemed) He enjoyed his job at Pierce but at the age of 40, Tony decided he needed to have a pension so he joined the TTC and worked out of Birchmount division until his retirement at age 65. At the time of his retirement he got cancer. Undaunted, he fought it and won. On their 25th anniversary Tony secretly arranged to renew his wedding vows with Babe on a cruise ship with their original best man and maid of honor, Bill and Nancy Coe. He gave her a new engagement ring since Babe had accidently thrown her original one in the garbage. Babe and Tony went on to do a lot of travelling. They went to Spain, Hawaii, Tofino BC, Italy, Greece, Britain, Ireland, Alaska, Newfoundland and many other places. When Tony was 75 he noticed Babe was having memory issues. When he was 77 she had stopped being able to form new memories. Tony became her caregiver. He did his best and for the next ten years they stayed in their home in Wilmot Creek. They took their last trip with their daughters in 2015, flying to California and cruising through the Panama Canal to Florida with many interesting stops along the way. Babe turned 80 on that cruise. Tony gave her another beautiful ring. A year ago his Tony’s cancer made a reappearance. His children struggled to support them from a distance to allow them their independence for as long as possible. Recently, their son Mike and daughter-in-law Janet invited Tony and Babe to move in with them and they accepted. They were set to move in May 1st. His chidren were thrilled that their dad would be able to enjoy the rest of his life being cared for instead of being the caregiver. On April 28th, Tony had a stroke. He died on May 2nd. His family and friends were stunned by his death and saddened that they have not been able to hug him since Covid happened and now would never be able to again. Tony was an optimist. His outlook was always positive. He would even see having a stroke as positive because a cancer death would likely be long and painful. Everyone he met enjoyed his company and his smile. He set a wonderful example for his children who will remember him with love for as long they live. Due to current restrictions there will be no service at this time, a Celebration of his Life will be held when it is safe to do so. Arrangements entrusted to NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. Bowmanville. Memorial Donations may be made to The Cancer Society.

My Tribute Gift Foundation makes this online charitable giving portal web page MyTributeGift.org (the “Website”) available to you subject to your acceptance of and compliance with these terms of use (the “Terms of Use”). Your donation will be processed through My Tribute Gift Foundation for distribution to your selected charity. Your credit card transaction record will appear as My Tribute Gift Foundation. An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.
You warrant and represent that all information and materials you provide to My Tribute Gift Foundation, through the Website or otherwise, are accurate and truthful and do not violate third party rights. Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.

As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified.
