Betty Marie Sisson 95, of Cedar Crest Village in Pompton Plains, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday June 4, 2021. Betty is survived by her spouse. Stanley Campbell Sisson of Penn Yan, NY, six children, Stanley, Kathleen, John, Paul, Marie and Peter, eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
Born in Easton PA in 1925, and a graduate of Central High School in Paterson, NJ, Betty studied to be a registered nurse at Paterson General Hospital when she met Stanley Sisson. They were wed on October 21, 1944 before Stanley was shipped off to the Philippines to continue his service in the Navy.
Prior to living at Cedar Crest in Pompton Plains, Betty also resided in Oakridge and Prospect Park, NJ. Betty and Stanley shared a passionate love and 77 years of marriage. They were active members of their Roman Catholic ministry especially, Saint John Vianney of Stockholm, NJ. She was also a dedicated member of Legion of Mary. Betty was an avid gardener, and enjoyed time swimming with her children and grandchildren at her Oakridge home. She cared deeply for her grandchildren, spending many hours baking Christmas's cookies and building gingerbread houses.
We love you and miss you Mommy and know that you are in God's great garden now.
Visitation Sunday, June 13 from 1:30 to 3:30 pm at the Cedar Crest chapel. Funeral mass immediately following at 3:30 pm. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed, details below. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the resident's care fund of Cedar Crest.
