Mary Wilson

Mary O. Wilson, 98, of Bombay, NY, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020. Born in Paul Smith’s, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Frances Washburn Otis. She lived all of her young life with her grandmother, the late Jennie Otis. She graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1940. Mary worked for several years at the Alice Hyde Hospital Snack Bar. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, in Malone, NY, and a life member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Alice Hyde Women’s Auxiliary. She was a former member of the Amvets and American Legion Auxiliary and the Catholic Daughters in Bloomingdale, NY. She enjoyed reading, knitting, word puzzles, walking, picking blueberries, feeding her feathered friends. She truly enjoyed nature and traveling. On June 18, 1942, she was united in marriage to J. Ralph Wilson, at St. Gabriel’s Church, in Paul Smith’s, NY. He predeceased her on August 28, 1994. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Susan and Dean Yaddow of Bombay, NY, Judy Wilson of Moira, NY, and Kathy and Lloyd Goodnow of Richmond, NH, four grandchildren, Amy Denton of Plattsburgh, NY, Christopher Goodnow and his wife, Jen of South Carolina, Jennifer Clevenger and her husband, Paul of New Hampshire, Matthew Goodnow and his girlfriend, Mandy of New Hampshire, six great grandchildren, Tyler and Bryant Denton, Logan, Vivian, Sydney and Paisley Goodnow, and several nieces, nephews. Along with her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Harold “Hutch” Lepine. There are no calling hours. Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. A Graveside Service and burial will be held Wednesday December 2, 2020, at 11:45 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, on the Child Road, in Malone, NY. Donations may be made in her memory to the Alice Ballard Fund of Hospice of the North Country, Inc. in Malone, NY, or to the Bombay Volunteer Fire Department or E.M.S.
