Frances T. Jones, 94, of Atlantic City passed away peacefully on July 20, 2021. She is predeceased by: her parents, Arthur and Beatrice Turner, husband, Charles Reginald "Reggie" Jones, Sr., and son, Charles R. Jones, Jr.
Frances (also known as "Alice" by her family) was an educator and administrator with the Atlantic City Board of Education for 40 years. She started her career as one of the first African American teachers allowed to teach in one of Atlantic City's an all white schools -- Madison Avenue School. Her devotion to furthering the ability of parents to assist children with studies led her to create the RAPP (Reading and Parent Program) helping parents to develop skills to assist their children's learning.
Her devotion to her church, Hamilton Memorial United Methodist Church continued until her death.
She is survived by: her daughter, Elaine "Candy" Jones; grandchildren, Shannon, Antonio, Dominic, Jilani, Miles, and Malik; sister, Beatrice Dato; cousin, Barbara Harris; and many family friends.
Her generosity, faith, and spirit live within us forever.
Memorial services for Mrs. Jones will be Noon, Saturday, August 14, 2021, Hamilton Memorial United Methodist Church, 609 Arctic Avenue, Atlantic City, New Jersey, where friends may call from 11:30AM.
