Nathaniel C. Glinbizzi, 89, of Pequannock, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2022 surrounded by family.
Nathaniel, also known as Nate, was born on May 29, 1932 in Garfield, NJ to Joseph and Josephine Glinbizzi. He graduated from Garfield High School in 1951 and joined the United States Air Force where he served in the Korean War.
After serving in the Air Force, Nate worked as an airline mechanic for Braniff and Continental Airlines, retiring in 1999 from the FAA as a chief inspector. He was an active member of Pequannock Township where he served as mayor and was a member of the town council, Knights of Columbus, and UNICO. He was also a faithful parishioner of Holy Spirit RC Church and an avid woodworker and gardener.
Nate was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn; and his daughter, Angela Beck. He is survived by his children, Cheryl Nolet and her husband Steve of Middletown, Joann Van Duyne and her husband Frank of Pequannock, Nate Glinbizzi and his wife Joanne of Queensbury, NY, and Diane Fox and her husband Tim of Pequannock; his son in-law, Gordon Beck of Bloomingdale; his grandchildren, Sean Nolet, Jennifer Marotta and her husband Michael, Christopher Beck, Stacey Scott and her husband Jason, Frank Van Duyne, Randy Van Duyne, Michael Van Duyne, Anthony Glinbizzi, Victoria Glinbizzi, Timothy Fox, Joseph Fox, Traci Fox and her fiance Patrick Niebler, Kenneth Fox, and Kayla Fox; his great grandchildren, Lyla Van Duyne, Lukas Marotta, Jason Scott, Ava Scott, and Elijah Fox; his brothers, Ralph and Albert Glinbizzi; his sister, Angela Saich and her husband Richard; and his loving companion, Anne Sobel.
Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 8 pm Thursday, January 20 at the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be held 11 am Friday at Holy Spirit RC Church, Pequannock. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Saddle Brook.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Icla da Silva Foundation in honor of Nate's granddaughter Traci Fox would be greatly appreciated by the family.
