Kitson Ferrari

Kitson (“Kit”) Ferrari (Karg), born February 2, 1947, to the late Betty Hoffman Karg and late James Arthur Karg, in Westerville, Ohio, passed away on February 6, 2020, at Advent Health DeLand in DeLand, FL after a short illness. She was 73 years old. To cherish her memory, she leaves her Brother Rollin “Butch” Karg and wife Karen of Kechi, KS, son, Andy and wife, Kellee Jo, Deland, FL; son Edwin and partner, Sherry, of Melbourne, FL; son Ira and partner Marcy of Naples, FL; and her granddaughter, Tiffany and great grandson, Sebastian with whom she resided in DeLeon Springs, FL. She is also survived by grandchildren Davis, Justin, Jason, Loretta, Lisa, Mark, Melissa, Michael, Christopher, Brea, and Emily, 24 great grandchildren, nine nieces and nephews, four cousins, and many dear friends. Kit was predeceased by her beloved husband of 40 years, Edwin, and their sons Ricky, Mark, Mike, and Vincent. She was also predeceased by her older brother, Jim, and baby brother, Teddy. Always a hard worker, Kit was employed at RCA when she met her late husband, Ed as the Teller at the RCA Credit Union. Then, After spending 16 years as a full-time homemaker, She then went to work at Walmart in DeLand. Kit started out as a CSR in the Snack Mar, but worked her way up to Department Manager of the Shoe Department, winning several awards for good customer reviews and inventory control. Kit retired in 2014 after 20 years of dedicated service. Kit was the quintessential team player and was beloved by her coworkers. A gifted peacekeeper, she was adept at building cooperative relationships, creating a positive atmosphere at work and in conversations, and was always considerate of the feelings and needs of others. She was a devoted worker, routinely going above and beyond the call of duty. What Kit enjoyed the most was taking care of people – especially her family. She was delighted when she became an Aunt at 20 to her new sister-in-law, Suzanne’s, two young daughters. She was a devoted mother to her son and 5 stepsons. Shortly after "retiring," Kit lovingly cared for her great grandson Sebastian full-time for 5 years. And it was no surprise -- playing with children was always one of her favorite past times at which she excelled. Kit was both respected and loved by those around her. Others naturally sought her out for assistance based on her wisdom, ability to communicate, sense of humor, and patient manner. Kit was an incredibly kind, gentle, and loving person, and she taught us all to be better people, too. A memorial service to celebrate Kit’s life will be held on March 7, 2020 at 10:00 am at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Deland.
