Mary was such an exceptional person. I was so fortunate to have her as a colleague and then as a friend when I returned to teaching at EC Drury. I recall the day I told Sean, an autistic student, to greet Mrs. MacDuffe before she greeted him. Mary was completely bowled over recognizing that was so unusual for this student to initiate a conversation. She responded in kind and he knew he could trust her. Their bond was immediate and she guided and nurtured him through the rest of his high school career. And he was not the only one. I don't think the school ever knew what a resource they had, but the students knew. A sad loss.

Dear Peter and Family, I was so sorry to hear of Mary's passing from Judy. Mary was a lovely person, fun to be with, and a good partner at bridge. It has been many years since we moved away but I have fond memories of her. My deepest sympathy to you all, Isabel
