Theodore "Harold" Williams, 88, of Doniphan, MO, died Monday, November 13, 2023, at Villages of St Peters Memory Care in St. Peters, MO. Harold was born January 27, 1935, in Pine, MO to the late Fred and Estaleen (Whitwell) Williams.
Harold was a "Jack-of-all-Trades”, mechanic, carpenter, electrician, plumber, well digger, and pig farmer. He started early as an entrepreneur working at his daddy’s sawmill, working at Vitronic, then driving the gas truck for Reed Oil. He constructed and operated Williams Magic Wand Car Wash with his brother, Winfred, and raised hogs with his wife, Peggy. Her assistance was invaluable in all his endeavors. He was also in the Missouri Army National Guard, retiring after 30 years of service, being involved in Operation “Just Cause” in Panama and served in Operation “Desert Storm” in Iraq.
Harold was an active member of VFW Post 3485 and served as Commander for several years. He enjoyed spending time on Current River, camping, boating, fishing, running the trout line with his cousin, Willis Whitwell, photography, traveling, and vacationing, with family, his brother, Eugene, attending a majority of the trips.
On June 26, 1955, Harold married Peggy (Smith) Williams in Ripley County. She proceeded him in death.
Surviving is one daughter, Tamatha Williams of Doniphan, MO; one granddaughter, Stormie Williams of St. Louis, MO; nieces and nephews, Benita, Kenneth, Rose, Dennis, Eric, Julia, Michael, Krisha, and Bryan.
In addition to his parents, Harold was proceeded in death by four brothers, Eugene, Wayne, Winfred, and Maxcie Williams.
Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. also at Edwards Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO.
