Karen Green

On Saturday, January 9, 2020, Karen "Kare Bear" Green, beloved wife, mother, and "Grams" passed away at the age of 67. Karen was born on February 15, 1953 in Peckville, PA to Anne and Jacob Jablonski. She graduated from Geisinger Nursing School earning her diploma as a Registered Nurse. She was an active member of her community coaching her girls in sports and leading the local Girl Scout troop. Karen's family meant the world to her. Together with her husband and best friend, Michael, they raised two daughters, Corey and Jaimie. They happily welcomed a grandson, Rhys, who lit up their lives even more. Karen loved talking to and visiting her sister Gloria, and laughing with her son-in-law Matt. Karen was enthusiastic and kind. She was always up for an adventure with her family. Her many interests included trips to wineries and breweries, participating in the family fantasy football league, reading, solving crossword puzzles, cheering on her favorite teams in-person and on television, fishing, riding her bike, cooking, going to paint nights, spending time in Myrtle Beach, drinking Dunkin' Decaf, playing the lottery, creating new family traditions, and watching Survivor and Hallmark movies. Karen loved crafting, and was always knitting or learning a new skill so that she could make the perfect handmade gift for her family and friends. She was always willing to lend a hand and would drop everything to help someone in need. She never forgot a special occasion and always sent a card. She lives on through her husband Michael, sister Gloria, daughter Corey and son-in-law Matt, daughter Jaimie, grandson Rhys, and numerous extended family members including puppies Salsa & Sophie ("the ladies"). Relatives and friends are invited to attend her graveside service and burial on Thursday, January 14th 12pm at Zion Cemetery, Egg Harbor Township. Please join us masked and socially distanced to keep everyone as safe as possible. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Karen's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Community Foodbank of New Jersey.
