Anne Carruthers Allison November 20, 1938 to August 7, 2022 Anne Carruthers Allison (always Anne with E, please) was a vibrant soul, and her strength, integrity and resilience will be remembered in so many ways by those who knew and loved her. Anne bloomed wherever she was planted and spent her childhood living around southern Ontario with her parents Carl and Jean and brother Ben, before settling in Stayner, Ontario and growing up there. She had stories to tell from every part of her life. Raised by Carl and Jean with a spirit of adventure, Anne delighted in travelling every summer to her mother’s hometown in New Brunswick, developing a lifelong love of the water, be it lake or ocean, Georgian Bay, backyard pool, the Hawaiian Pacific or the Bay of Fundy. Once she started at Collingwood District Collegiate Institute, the jig was up. She met Paul Allison when she was 16 and he was 17 and they were together from that moment until their 62nd wedding anniversary, the day before she died. Anne and Paul delighted in their children Jane and Greg and were fun parents. After raising their children in Burlington, Anne and Paul returned to Collingwood and never looked back. They thrived as part of the community, building businesses and careers and friendships, and giving back. Anne created social enterprises in her life, from starting the Handi-van program in Burlington; leadership in the Halton and Ontario MS Societies; creating Halton Helping Hands; running Information Burlington; operating a retail business for many years; and enjoying later in life career success as a Job Coach for Breaking Down Barriers in Collingwood. Gifted with a great capacity for happiness and a soul-deep kindness, Anne was a friend to everyone as well as to herself. Diagnosed with an extremely rare form of cancer in 2006, she launched a strategy to beat the odds and had many good years of thriving. Those left behind are bereft but there is a glimmer of peace that will grow over time as we will all take pleasure in the many great memories of Anne. Anne leaves her husband Paul Allison, and children Jane and Greg; her brother Dr. Ben Carruthers and his wife Cheryl, and their children and grandchildren; and the Brown/Lemin and Brown/Dalton families in Maine. Anne had a legion of friends, colleagues and associates gathered throughout her lifetime, and especially the gang from high school at CDCI. Anne had friends of all ages and it is one of the aspects of her life that she cherished. Of special note are Helen Taylor and Ruth Daniels, who each defines the term ‘friendship’ in their devotion to Anne. Our deep appreciation to the skillful and amazing doctors, nurses and scientists who treated Anne with the utmost respect and dignity along her 16-year journey, especially Dr. Mark Quigg and his wonderful staff. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Anne’s life will be scheduled at a future date. You may sign the book of condolences at www.fawcettfuneralhomes.com. If you would like to honour Anne with a donation, she would love that. Collingwood General & Marine Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital and New Life Church all had great meaning for Anne. Your donation will be processed through My Tribute Gift Foundation for distribution to your selected charity. Your credit card transaction record will appear as My Tribute Gift Foundation. An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.
You warrant and represent that all information and materials you provide to My Tribute Gift Foundation, through the Website or otherwise, are accurate and truthful and do not violate third party rights. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL MY TRIBUTE GIFT FOUNDATION OR ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, SERVICE PROVIDERS, AND AGENTS (THE "FOUNDATION PARTIES") BE LIABLE FOR ANY: (i) INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, COMPENSATORY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; (ii) DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF INCOME, LOSS OF PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF DATA OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY; (iii) CLAIMS OF THIRD PARTIES; OR (iv) OTHER PECUNIARY LOSS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OF USE, THE WEBSITE OR ANY LINKED SITE. Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.

As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified.
