Isadore Kozatch was born November 8, 1921 in Mons, Belgium and immigrated to the United States with his parents in 1923. His father was quarantined at Ellis Island for two weeks. This was an exceptionally traumatic time for the family, as it was for countless other immigrants following World War I. In August of 1942, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and spent the next three years flying combat missions over Europe. While awaiting transfer in Denver in 1944, he met his future spouse, Ida Epstein, at a USO picnic. He was discharged in September of 1945 from Fort Dix, NJ and received 10 awards and decorations. Shortly after, he returned to Denver and married Ida on January 6, 1946. Soon after, he bought a small used furniture store on 34th and Franklin from his father-in-law. In 1964, he grew the business into a large furniture and carpet store located downtown on the corner of 18th and Wazee. His son Jerry joined him in the furniture business in April of 1977. They were partners until the furniture business closed in 1995. Isadore pursued several hobbies during his retirement years. He was an avid fisherman, read extensively, traveled, attended Elder Hostels, and finally attended college part-time at the University of Denver. He audited classes that were interesting to him such as history, jazz music, and literature. Ida became ill in the late 1990’s, and Isadore cared for her at home until her death on April 17, 2009. He never remarried and remained in their Denver home until 2015 when he sold the house and moved to a senior living facility. Honor Flight Network selected Isadore to participate in a complimentary tour of war memorials in Washington D.C. This was a chance to be honored and to reflect on his experiences. He was able to remember friends and comrades and meet other veterans. On May 25th, 2018, Isadore was awarded the French Legion Of Honor Medal, the highest decoration that the French government gives to those who defended France during WWI and WWII. There was a beautiful ceremony held at the Colorado State Capitol Building. He was a beloved member of the community, a man with a unique personality, and great sense of humor. He always had a sharp retort for all who chose to attempt to tease him. He was an unforgettable person: respected, admired, and loved by those who knew and understood him. He is the brother of the late I. George Kozatch. He is the brother-in-law of the late Joseph Epstein, the late Helen and Alan Markson, the late Harold Epstein, and the late Edmund and Judy Epstein. He is survived by his two sister-in-laws (Shirley and Joan Epstein), three children (Marcie Bayaz, Jerry (Vail) Kozatch, and Rivka Yerushalmi), his four grandchildren (Shai (Tamara) Bayaz, Shachar (Sarit) Bayaz, Lia and Mara Kozatch), and his nine great-grandchildren. Funeral service, 11AM, Wednesday, April 21 at Rodef Shalom. Burial will follow at Emanuel Cemetery within Fairmount Cemetery. Your donation will be processed through My Tribute Gift Foundation for distribution to your selected charity. Your credit card transaction record will appear as My Tribute Gift Foundation. An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.
You warrant and represent that all information and materials you provide to My Tribute Gift Foundation, through the Website or otherwise, are accurate and truthful and do not violate third party rights. Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.
If in any part of these Terms of Use is held, by a court of competent jurisdiction, to be invalid or unenforceable, such part of these Terms of Use shall be eliminated to the extent permitted in that jurisdiction, for purposes of that jurisdiction, and the remaining Terms of Use shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
These Terms of Use and your use of the Website are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and all federal laws of Canada applicable therein. The courts of the Province of Ontario shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms of Use or your use of the Website.
These Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement between you and My Tribute Gift Foundation with respect to the Website, except as we may explicitly agree otherwise in writing.. No delay or failure to exercise any right with respect to these Terms of Use shall be construed as a waiver by My Tribute Gift Foundation.
As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified. It is your responsibility to review these Terms of Use regularly.
