NEW SMYRNA BEACH, FL - Mr. James Michael Gollegly, age 69, a native of Ilion,
New York, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021 in Hobe Sound, Florida.
He was born on June 9, 1951, in Ilion, a son of the late Emmett J. and Audrey
(Stapp) Gollegly and was a graduate of Ilion High School. He had been a longtime
resident of Daytona Beach, Florida, where he worked with Flav-o-Rich Milk
Company and later Wal-Mart Produce Department in Ormond Beach.
He was a man of Catholic faith who could complete any crossword puzzle handed
his way. He loved sarcasm, bowling, coffee, and Old Westerns and will be dearly
missed by his loving family, including his children: Jana Moore (Scott, Ky, Josiah,
and Aniyah) and Melissa Gollegly, all of Seattle, WA; his siblings, Pamela Griffin, of
Whitney Point, NY, Sherri Morris, of Ilion, NY, Kevin P. Gollegly and his wife,
Marlene, of Herkimer and Renee Gollegly, of Herkimer; along with his Aunt Carol
Gollegly, of Utica, NY; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held in the Summer of 2021, at Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion. There are no calling hours.
Those wishing are asked to consider donations in his memory to the Ilion Ambulance Fund, Central Fire Station, Ilion, NY 13357. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
