“Frederick William Neil Martin” aka Neil or affectionately known to his kids as “General Bull Moose” would like to let you know that his work here is done. Neil died resting peacefully on June 5, 2021 in Victoria, BC.
He received a call a sort of an offer you can’t refuse for an appointment from which he will not be returning. This appointment comes with a reunion with family and friends he has not seen in a long time. His new mission takes him to a wonderful place where he will be socializing, sailing, cooking and serving chef prepared meals to long lost family and friends. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed.
He loved the ocean, the finest of foods and socializing with friends. The phrase jack of all trades and master of none is named after Neil. His career path led him through a great variety of trades from ski shop owner, traveling salesman, Sears, carpenter, contractor, real estate agent as well as the CEO of an ice cream empire.
Neil almost single handedly raised his three children Cheree (Ed), Russell (Gay) and Cameron (Leticia) after the heart-breaking loss of his true love Judy. It’s worth noting that he did a damn fine job of it; we all loved our mother and can’t imagine the loss he felt.
Neil’s tribe includes his sister Dell Mitchell (Victoria) and brother Wes Martin (Calgary) as well as grandchildren Ashley, Jenna, Cortney, Reid, Grace and great granddaughter Kiarah.
Neil charted his own course in life with few corrections, but he always arrived at his destination in time for happy hour.
His children would like to thank Glenwarren Lodge in Victoria for the great care Dad received while there.
A private family service is planned in Canmore, AB where he will be laid to rest beside Judy.
