She started out in general nursing which led to pediatrics, Infectious disease coordinator for Holy Redeemer Hospital, one of the largest Catholic hospitals on the east coast, outside of Philadelphia. Her next move took her to the Jewish Home for the Elderly in Fairfield, CT. It was there that she held the position of Head Nurse and later became the Director of Nursing. The next move was to VA where she joined a visiting nursing service. Her final nursing shifts would bring her to NJ where she started as a visiting nurse and then at the age of 60 went back to school to receive a degree as a Certified Diabetic Educator which Carol retired from.
While in NJ, she was very active with the Whitehouse United Methodist Church, participating in bible study as well as book club.
