Salvatore Marsalo

Salvatore T. Marsalo, age 76 of Cape May passed away peacefully on Friday February 12, 2021at his son's home in Morgantown, PA. He was born in Philadelphia, grew up in South Philadelphia and lived in Northeast Philadelphia with his family for many years before relocating to Cape May in 1993. Salvatore was a retired Police Officer for the Philadelphia Police Dept. where he served the city for 26 years and also retired from the Camden Federal Court House where he had been Head of Security. He had also retired after 20 years of service from the Army National Guard. Salvatore was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was very proud of granddaughters and rarely missed an opportunity to attend their various sporting events. He was a member of the Greater Cape May Elks Club and the Villas Fishing Club. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Barbara Marsalo; two sons, Anthony (Jennifer) and Nicholas (Leslie); an adopted son Patrick Smith; a brother Dominick Marsalo and his granddaughters Grace and Sophia Marsalo. He was preceded in death by a sister Cecelia DiStefano. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 9:15 to 10:15 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd., North Cape May and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at the St. John Neumann Parish/ St. John of God Church, 680 Townbank Road, North Cape May. Burial will be at the Cape May Co. Veterans Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
