CASWELL; Hubert Gayton Passed away at Ross Memorial Hospital on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at the age of 86 after being cared for at home by family. Hubert left Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia at the age of 18 unsure of what lay ahead and where he would land and headed to Galt (Cambridge, ON) where he started work in the Parts Department at the local GM Dealership and while he was there he was introduced to his life partner, Joan by his co-worker/and her neighbour and the courtship began. He then went on to work as a Butcher in the Meat Department at the Dominion Grocery store in Galt, then he moved to Toronto and attended the Radio College and trained as a Technician and upon graduating from the Radio College he was immediately hired by the Forest Hill Village Fire and Police Department to work on their radios, and in 1955 he joined Forest Hill Fire Department and later Toronto Fire Department as a Fireman for 38 years spending the last four years of his career on the Toronto Fire Boat. Bert as he is fondly known loved being a husband, father, grandfather, fireman, and friend. He loved helping people and always was quick to selflessly serve and assist others with respect, kindness and humour. He was a true gentleman who was humble, humourous and happy; he was one of a kind. After 38 years on the job, he and his wife, (his beloved Queen Bee as he affectionately called her) retired from Scarborough to Bobcaygeon, ON to a wonderful community in Country Club Heights for leisure time spent boating, riding his bike, gardening, spending time with his children and grandchildren and travelling to his beloved Nova Scotia year after year to see family and friends, spend time at his cottage on Sandy Bottom Lake and later years at Phinney Cove gazing at the Bay of Fundy. Beloved husband of Joan (nee Liscombe) of 65 years. Loving father of Frank (Diane), and Edward. Adored Grandpa by his four beautiful Granddaughters: Jacalyn, Joanne, Carly and Christine. Predeceased by his Parents Edwin and Helen Caswell of Annapolis Royal and by his Brother Dale (Doris) of Bridgetown Nova Scotia, and his infant brother Donald. He will be deeply missed by his extended family, friends and neighbours. Special thanks to the many friends at the Kawartha Marine Club, his Firefighter Brothers and wonderful neighbours of Country Club Heights and Scarborough for their friendship, comradery and kindness. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to everyone for all the Tim Horton’s coffee dates, shopping, driving to appointments, food preparation, friendship and overall assistance. Arrangements are entrusted to THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, MONK CHAPEL, 6 Helen Street, Bobcaygeon. A private family gathering will take place on Saturday April 11th. Hubert, Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, Cousin left us with many wonderful memories, stories, celebrations, lots of laughter and imparted his wisdom which we will hold close in our hearts forever. Due to the current circumstance, a celebration of Hubert’s life will take place at a later date/time, if you would like to be included please send your contact number and email address to dcaswell53@hotmail.com and we will ensure you receive an invitation. My Tribute Gift Foundation makes this online charitable giving portal web page MyTributeGift.org (the “Website”) available to you subject to your acceptance of and compliance with these terms of use (the “Terms of Use”). Your donation will be processed through My Tribute Gift Foundation for distribution to your selected charity. Your credit card transaction record will appear as My Tribute Gift Foundation. An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.
You warrant and represent that all information and materials you provide to My Tribute Gift Foundation, through the Website or otherwise, are accurate and truthful and do not violate third party rights. Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.
If in any part of these Terms of Use is held, by a court of competent jurisdiction, to be invalid or unenforceable, such part of these Terms of Use shall be eliminated to the extent permitted in that jurisdiction, for purposes of that jurisdiction, and the remaining Terms of Use shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
These Terms of Use and your use of the Website are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and all federal laws of Canada applicable therein. The courts of the Province of Ontario shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms of Use or your use of the Website.
These Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement between you and My Tribute Gift Foundation with respect to the Website, except as we may explicitly agree otherwise in writing.. No delay or failure to exercise any right with respect to these Terms of Use shall be construed as a waiver by My Tribute Gift Foundation.
As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified. It is your responsibility to review these Terms of Use regularly.
