It is with broken heart that we announce the passing of our mother, Gladys Elizabeth (Sibbins) Orde. Mom passed away March 18, 2021 at the Digby General hospital, with us, her family by her side. Born March 15, 1928 in Graywood, she was the daughter of the late George and Emma (Mailman) Sibbins. She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas and daughter, Minnie. She is survived by sons, Joey, Lequille and Rodney, Graywood; daughter, Christine, Marshalltown; four grandchildren, and two great grandsons; brother, Stanley.
She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas and daughter, Minnie; brothers, Irvin, Gilbert, Frank, Ralph, Fred and Douglas; sisters, Rachel, Lucy, Ilda.
Mom spent her whole life in Graywood, until moving to Digby in the fall of 2019. She never asked for anything and was content with what she did have. She spent her summers picking blueberries and her winters knitting; Up until her death she was still knitting a pair of socks.
Mom had the strongest will power and stubbornness, we have ever seen in a person, which was very frustrating but an inspiration to us all. She was the toughest woman we will every have had our lives.
