It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Gisèle Roy (née Saint-Denis), of Renfrew Ontario, at the age of 81 years. Gisèle was born on January 10, 1941 in the small municipality of Lac Sainte-Marie, Quebec, where she spent her childhood and teenage years. She later moved to study assistant-nursing in Hull, Quebec. In the late 1950s, she worked at Hôpital Sacré-Cœur in Hull in the maternity ward with premature babies. Later in her career, she worked in the personnel office. Gisèle took great pride in her work and loved helping others. After a first marriage that gave her two cherished children (Mario and Joanne), Gisèle met the love of her life, Michel, in 1963 and decided to found a family with him in Toronto, Ontario and the surrounding areas. She had three more beloved children (Catherine, Dominique and Yvon) and the family eventually relocated in the province of Quebec, living in Montreal, the West Island, Sainte-Rosalie and Gatineau. During the mid-1980s, Gisèle’s deep love for animals moved her to train in veterinary clinics. She also worked in a long-term care facility in Montreal, caring for elderly residents. The last twenty years of her life, she spent in Ontario with her husband, living in various small villages in Renfrew County. During her life, Gisèle travelled Canada extensively, as well as parts of the US, accompanying her husband as he travelled for work, often driving coast to coast. She loved their road trips, making friends and connecting with nature. She was known for her great beauty, her impeccable classic style and her playfulness. An avid reader, she encouraged Quebec authors and kept up with current affairs. She loved country-western music, her family, her cats and the tender green of spring. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Michel Roy, and her five children Mario Patry, Joanne Patry, Catherine Roy, Dominique Roy and Yvon Roy. She will also be dearly missed by her extended family and friends, too many to name. Gisèle was predeceased by her beloved brother Yvon Saint-Denis and her parents Amédé Saint-Denis and Irène Saint-Denis (née Houle). A celebration of her life will be held at the private residence “Le District” (in “la grande salle”), 85 Imp. Lady-Colborne in Gatineau (Aylmer), Quebec on 23 July 2022, at 13h00. Donations in Gisèle‘s memory may be made to the Groves Park Lodge long-term care centre in Renfrew, Ontario. The family extends deep thanks to the staff at Groves Park Lodge for taking such good care of Gisèle. Elle a également travaillé dans un établissement de soins de longue durée à Montréal, où elle soignait les résidents âgés. Les vingt dernières années de sa vie, elle les a passées principalement en Ontario avec son époux, habitant divers petits villages dans le Comté de Renfrew. Au cours de sa vie, Gisèle a beaucoup voyagé au Canada, ainsi que dans certaines régions des États-Unis, accompagnant son époux dans ses déplacements professionnels, souvent d'un océan à l'autre. Elle adorait leurs “road trips”, se faire des amis et se rapprocher de la nature. Elle était connue pour sa grande beauté, son style classique impeccable et son côté enjoué. Lectrice passionnée, elle encourageait les auteurs québécois et se tenait au courant de l'actualité. Elle aimait la musique country-western, sa famille, ses chats et le vert tendre du printemps. Son époux Michel Roy, et ses cinq enfants Mario Patry, Joanne Patry, Catherine Roy, Dominique Roy et Yvon Roy se souviendront d'elle avec amour. Elle manquera également beaucoup à sa famille élargie et à ses amis, trop nombreux pour les nommer. Gisèle a été précédée dans la tombe par son frère bien-aimé Yvon Saint-Denis et ses parents Amédé Saint-Denis et Irène Saint-Denis (née Houle). Une célébration de sa vie aura lieu à la résidence privée “Le District” (dans la grande salle), 85 Imp. Lady-Colborne à Gatineau (Aylmer), Quebec le 23 juillet 2022, à 13h00. Des dons à la mémoire de Gisèle peuvent être faits au centre de soins de longue durée Groves Park Lodge à Renfrew, Ontario. La famille tient à remercier chaleureusement le personnel du Groves Park Lodge pour avoir si bien pris soin de Gisèle.

My Tribute Gift Foundation makes this online charitable giving portal web page MyTributeGift.org (the “Website”) available to you subject to your acceptance of and compliance with these terms of use (the “Terms of Use”). Your donation will be processed through My Tribute Gift Foundation for distribution to your selected charity. Your credit card transaction record will appear as My Tribute Gift Foundation. An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.

Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.

As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified.
