Gregory L. Mohn, 71, of Shippensburg, departed this life surrounded by his loving family, on the afternoon of Saturday, July 16, 2022, at WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital. He was born on January 10, 1951, in Chambersburg, a son of Maxine E. (Hall) Mohn and the late George B. Mohn. Greg was a 1968 graduate of the Shippensburg Area High School. In 1972 he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, from Shippensburg State College, now Shippensburg University. Greg utilized that degree working in several businesses before becoming a federal government employee. He retired in 2011 from the Department of the Navy, Naval Supply Systems Command, as a Contract Specialist, with twenty-seven years of service. Greg was devoted to his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends. Throughout his life he enjoyed water sports, especially swimming and also SCUBA diving, boating, and water skiing at Raystown Lake. Greg was always willing to share his passion and invite family and friends for a day at the lake. In recent years, swimming laps at the S.U. Natatorium was a favorite pastime. During the summer months, Greg would be found splashing and playing with his grandkids in the family pool. He was a member of the Messiah United Methodist Church since childhood and was an active member of the Saturday morning Men’s Group. Greg is survived by his loving wife of forty-nine years, Karen C. Mohn; one daughter, Laurie A. Kaufman and husband Matthew of Chambersburg; one son, Bryan G. Mohn and wife Breanna of Toms River, NJ; three granddaughters, Katie, Ellie, and Maggie Kaufman; one grandson, Corbin Mohn; two brothers, Jeffrey Mohn and wife Lessa and Stephen Mohn, all of Shippensburg; and numerous sisters and brothers in law, nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his father, Greg was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Catherine Hall and paternal grandparents, Bryan and Mary Mohn. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, July, 21, 2022, in the Messiah United Methodist Church, Shippensburg. The Rev. Dr. Francis H. Norton will officiate. Private interment will follow at a future date and time. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday afternoon at the church. Greg was an untraditional, energetic, and lively man with a loving heart and memorable sense of humor. To honor him, the family requests that those attending the memorial service, if able, wear a bit of orange (his favorite) or another bright, joy inspiring color. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Glaucoma Research Foundation, the American Heart Association, or the Messiah United Methodist Church (30 South Penn St. Shippensburg, PA).

My Tribute Gift Foundation makes this online charitable giving portal web page MyTributeGift.org (the “Website”) available to you subject to your acceptance of and compliance with these terms of use (the “Terms of Use”). Your donation will be processed through My Tribute Gift Foundation for distribution to your selected charity. Your credit card transaction record will appear as My Tribute Gift Foundation. An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.
You warrant and represent that all information and materials you provide to My Tribute Gift Foundation, through the Website or otherwise, are accurate and truthful and do not violate third party rights. Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.
If in any part of these Terms of Use is held, by a court of competent jurisdiction, to be invalid or unenforceable, such part of these Terms of Use shall be eliminated to the extent permitted in that jurisdiction, for purposes of that jurisdiction, and the remaining Terms of Use shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
These Terms of Use and your use of the Website are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and all federal laws of Canada applicable therein. The courts of the Province of Ontario shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms of Use or your use of the Website.
These Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement between you and My Tribute Gift Foundation with respect to the Website, except as we may explicitly agree otherwise in writing.. No delay or failure to exercise any right with respect to these Terms of Use shall be construed as a waiver by My Tribute Gift Foundation.
As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified. It is your responsibility to review these Terms of Use regularly.
