Dear Bev, Nan and Karen and your families; My deepest condolences on the loss of your incredible wonderful mother, and yet at the same time I somehow have a sense of wanting to celebrate your mom and extend that to you. I've only had a few true role models in my life and Lorrie would be right up there at the top. Although I last had a visit with her in the Fall of 2018, for a few years before that I was able to get to town and visit this remarkable woman and be inspired all over again. Although I knew Lorrie a bit while belonging the KW House Churches, it was really when I started working for the Reception Centre that I started to know her better. Her quiet and consistent support of me and the work of the Centre left a last imprint on my life. I'm sure I am only one of many, many persons who would echo my thoughts. SNYDER, Lorraine (Muriel Lorraine) On Thursday evening, May 21, 2020, after a brief illness, Lorraine passed from this life at her home in Kitchener, with family members at hand, in her 97th year. She is loved and sorely missed by her daughters Karen Snyder, Nan Cressman (Doug), Bev Moores (Donnie); grandchildren Sarah Cressman (Jessie Myhill), Talitha May (Dennis), Paul Cressman (Rebecca Chouinard), Martha Snyder (Scott Ramsay), Stacey Weber (Jeremy), Charis Shouldice (Darryl); and 11 great-grandchildren. Lorraine was predeceased by her dear husband of 58 years, Fred D. Snyder (2005), sister and brother-in-law Jean and Walter Good, and her parents William and Irene (Eby) Voelker. Although Lorraine was born in Kitchener, and lived there all her life, she had a strong sense of herself as a citizen of the world and carried a deep interest in the welfare of others. Her concern for social justice manifested in many ways: in early adult years by creating a preschool for children at risk and providing a home away from home for international students. Later, Lorraine decided to use the freedom of her 60’s to take risks for peacemaking – protesting with Project Ploughshares against militarization, standing with Nicaraguans through Witness For Peace, being arrested at the Ministry of National Defense for her support of the Innu people of Labrador in their struggle against low level military flying there. Lorraine’s spiritual journey was nourished in early life by Zion EUB church in Kitchener. In midlife, her desire for faith in action found inspiration at Koinonia Farm and Jubilee Partners in Georgia and was shared in community with KW House Churches and later, Olive Branch Mennonite Church. Her circle of friends was wide, including people of all generations and many cultures. She was known for her listening skills. Many a friend or family member would find their burden lighter and clarity greater after time spent with Lorraine. She was an inspiring, loving, generous, and wise mother and grandmother, spouse and friend. Her legacy of simple living, caring for the world, generosity and openness to others lives on. She is deeply missed and surrounded by love. Interment has taken place at Mount Hope Cemetery, Kitchener. Notice of a future memorial service will be given at that time. Condolences for the family and donations to MCRS (Mennonite Coalition for Refugee Support) or Habitat for Humanity (Waterloo Region) may be arranged through the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.

Your donation will be processed through My Tribute Gift Foundation for distribution to your selected charity. Your credit card transaction record will appear as My Tribute Gift Foundation. An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.
You warrant and represent that all information and materials you provide to My Tribute Gift Foundation, through the Website or otherwise, are accurate and truthful and do not violate third party rights. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL MY TRIBUTE GIFT FOUNDATION OR ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, SERVICE PROVIDERS, AND AGENTS (THE "FOUNDATION PARTIES") BE LIABLE FOR ANY: (i) INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, COMPENSATORY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; (ii) DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF INCOME, LOSS OF PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF DATA OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY; (iii) CLAIMS OF THIRD PARTIES; OR (iv) OTHER PECUNIARY LOSS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OF USE, THE WEBSITE OR ANY LINKED SITE. Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.

As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified.
