ERNST, Melba Louise - It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our dear wife and mother, Melba Louise Ernst at the age of 80 on February 4, 2022, at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Bridgewater on August 10, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Marjorie and Basil Publicover. Melba is survived by her husband of 59 years, Lloyd Ernst; daughter, Wendy (Kevin) Emino; brothers, Carroll (Kim) Publicover; Keith (Sandi) Publicover. Besides her parents, Melba was predeceased by her daughter, Krisanne Ernst. Melba was a young stenographer who fell in love and married the love of her life, my dad, Lloyd. She was a devoted wife and partner, running their business and home together, and eventually raising two daughters, Wendy and Krisanne, who she loved unconditionally and completely until the end of her days. We have been so blessed. She was the best wife, mother, and mother-in-law anyone could have wished for. She was kind, supportive and giving. Melba was also the most wonderful friend to her “Group of 7 girlfriends”, caring, sharing, and laughing their way through life’s joys and obstacles alike. Melba was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, A Red Coat volunteer at South Shore Regional Hospital, and as well enjoyed the ladies bowling league in her younger years. She loved to garden, visit the beaches, read, and play a good game of cards. She also liked to travel, especially on joint vacations with cousin, Louise who she loved like a sister. Louise, Fran, Mom and Dad shared many a trip between Canadian and United Stated destinations where each family resided. Above all, Melba loved her family and home. The constant nurturer, her needs came after everyone else’s. Her faith remained strong to the end. God bless her, we will love and miss her always. The family wishes to send a special thanks to Dr. Helmut Hollandhorst (Radiation oncology at the V.G. Hospital), The palliative care team at South Shore Regional Hospital, Dr. Anne Chaisson and nurses, Claire, and Brianna on the third floor at South Shore Regional Hospital. Your compassion for mom was remarkable. We are so grateful that you made her last days and hours peaceful and gentle. A special thanks also goes to all friends and family who kindly brought food, flowers and well wishes during mom’s lengthy illness. We are so grateful to all of you. A Celebration of Life will be held 2 p.m., Friday, September 23, 2022, in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 25 Phoenix Street, Bridgewater. Rev. Paul Jensen officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, S.H.A.I.D. Tree Animal Shelter, or St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bridgewater. Your donation will be processed through My Tribute Gift Foundation for distribution to your selected charity. Your credit card transaction record will appear as My Tribute Gift Foundation. An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.
You warrant and represent that all information and materials you provide to My Tribute Gift Foundation, through the Website or otherwise, are accurate and truthful and do not violate third party rights. Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.
If in any part of these Terms of Use is held, by a court of competent jurisdiction, to be invalid or unenforceable, such part of these Terms of Use shall be eliminated to the extent permitted in that jurisdiction, for purposes of that jurisdiction, and the remaining Terms of Use shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
These Terms of Use and your use of the Website are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and all federal laws of Canada applicable therein. The courts of the Province of Ontario shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms of Use or your use of the Website.
These Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement between you and My Tribute Gift Foundation with respect to the Website, except as we may explicitly agree otherwise in writing.. No delay or failure to exercise any right with respect to these Terms of Use shall be construed as a waiver by My Tribute Gift Foundation.
As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified. It is your responsibility to review these Terms of Use regularly.
