Born in Toronto March 19, 1920, Lois was the second daughter of William and Vera Davidson and younger sister to Jean (spouse Richard McGiverin). Her path in life followed her father’s love of sports and her mother’s love of languages and teaching. Growing up in Ontario she enjoyed cottage summers with her family. However, not as much as summer camp. She attended Camp Onawa as a camper and then through to staff member. It was a life that she loved and forever remembered. She saw to it that the outdoor challenges and deep friendships found in the camping experience would be passed on to her sons and grandchildren. She was a proud graduate of Victoria College of the University of Toronto where she majored in English. Upon graduation she became a high school teacher of English and PhysEd. Following the war, she married Clair Bobier who earned a teaching position at the College of Optometry in Toronto. They enjoyed a loving marriage for 49 years. Lois ensured that their home was an active place. They entertained students, raised two sons, Bill and Paul. She shared in the lives of sister Jean, nieces, and nephews from the McGiverin and Bobier families. In 1967 Clair became a professor at the University of Waterloo. The family moved to Kitchener. Lois became a staunch proponent for the development of the Centre in the Square and a generous supporter of the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony and the Stratford Festival. She taught English as a second language while she and Clair added Scottish Country Dancing to their couples’activities. Lois remained a member of Trinity United Church throughout her years living in Kitchener. Her family grew over the years, mother -in -law to Jill (Bill), grandmother to Ted and wife Rachel Carter and Jacqueline and husband Chip Stroud. She was great grandmother to Charlie and Henry Bobier and Elliot Stroud. Physical activity and a deep interest in the English language accompanied Lois throughout her lifetime and well into her later years giving foundation to her long, healthy and rewarding life. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful team of caregivers at the Village of Winston Park, both Egerton and Newberry neighbourhoods. To celebrate Lois’ life please join family and friends on Monday April 11, 2022 at 11am. at Erb and Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St South, Waterloo, ON N2J 1P7 with a Livestream available at www.erbgood.com for those not able to be in attendance. A reception will follow the service in the Fireside Reception Room of the Funeral Home. The family asks that masks be worn and those wishing to attend the service and reception RSVP to the funeral home www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation to Arthritis Society of Kitchener or the Food Bank of Waterloo Region would be appreciated by the family and may be arranged through the funeral home www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.

My Tribute Gift Foundation makes this online charitable giving portal web page MyTributeGift.org (the “Website”) available to you subject to your acceptance of and compliance with these terms of use (the “Terms of Use”). Your donation will be processed through My Tribute Gift Foundation for distribution to your selected charity. Your credit card transaction record will appear as My Tribute Gift Foundation. An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL MY TRIBUTE GIFT FOUNDATION OR ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, SERVICE PROVIDERS, AND AGENTS (THE "FOUNDATION PARTIES") BE LIABLE FOR ANY: (i) INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, COMPENSATORY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; (ii) DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF INCOME, LOSS OF PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF DATA OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY; (iii) CLAIMS OF THIRD PARTIES; OR (iv) OTHER PECUNIARY LOSS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OF USE, THE WEBSITE OR ANY LINKED SITE. Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.

As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified.
