It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Daniel Dyck,resident of Rolla, British Columbia, on Friday, April 23, 2021 in Dawson Creek, BC, at the age of 83 years. A private family Graveside Service will be held at Peaceview Cemetery at a later date. Daniel was born in 1938 in Hague, Saskatchewan. Daniel and his brother, Herman, who were twins were the seventh and eighth born of 10 children. He learned from an early age to be a hard worker. He followed his twin, Herman, north to Dawson Creek, and they became barbers. Dan barbered for 47 years. He was retired for 15 years and he remarked, “If I had known how nice retirement would be, I would have done it years ago.” He met the love of his life in 1963. And swept her off her feet and married her the same year! A wonderful daughter was added to the family in 1967. Denise Angela was the light of their lives. A beautiful baby girl!. Leslie, their son, added to their growing family in 1970. A bouncing 4 lbs and 7 1/2 ounces boy. He added even more light to their family. Dan always handy, built them a lovely home right on the brink of the hill. Their view was spectacular. Many happy years in that house. With the opportunity to buy Ethel’s parent’s home quarter, they jumped at the chance to move to the country. Back to Ethel’s old stomping grounds. The farm proved to be a place of nurturing for their family. Chores, garden and animals! Dan who was known to be a meat-a-tarian. Loved being able to have chickens and raise their own beef. He never shied away from the extra work even though he carried on barbering all those years. He loved his bees! They had their bee apiary for many years. Produced lovely honey. Ethel so wanted to share something with Dan so she willingly got into the bees. But she says she learned to pray lots in that experience. One of Dan’s greatest joys was flying a plane. He told a dear friend that when he flew he felt free. He owned his own plane for years and cherished it. Was a sad day when he had to sell it, it became too expensive to keep up the plane any longer. How he loved the motorcycle trips him and Ethel went on. To the Oregon coast with friends and family. Travelling all over Saskatchewan and to the Okanagan and ice fields many times. He really liked to travel. He so enjoyed their trip to Hawaii. And their trips to Mexico. But his usual was to see his family that he so enjoyed to spend time with. Dan always loved working with wood. And many enjoyed his creations. From adirondack chairs, to lovely swings. He made cradles, doll cradles, right down to old fashioned match holders for the wall. He would donate his creations for benefit auctions at the hall. He loved working out in his shop. The neighbors in Doe River became very used to seeing him faithfully doing his 2 mile walk a day. He would wave without turning to even look, unless of course you pulled over and made him chat. Which we all knew he loved. What a good neighbor he was! If you needed help pulling a calf, or fixing something he would be there. Dan was also a grandpa to many friends children and an uncle to many who needed one. His love of children was evident to all and they loved him in return. He will leave a big hole in all our hearts but we rejoice that though we don’t see him today, we will see him again in glory. If you desire to make donations in Dan’s memory, you could donate to ICU at the Dawson Creek Hospital. My Tribute Gift Foundation makes this online charitable giving portal web page MyTributeGift.org (the “Website”) available to you subject to your acceptance of and compliance with these terms of use (the “Terms of Use”). Your donation will be processed through My Tribute Gift Foundation for distribution to your selected charity. Your credit card transaction record will appear as My Tribute Gift Foundation. An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.
You warrant and represent that all information and materials you provide to My Tribute Gift Foundation, through the Website or otherwise, are accurate and truthful and do not violate third party rights. Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.
If in any part of these Terms of Use is held, by a court of competent jurisdiction, to be invalid or unenforceable, such part of these Terms of Use shall be eliminated to the extent permitted in that jurisdiction, for purposes of that jurisdiction, and the remaining Terms of Use shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
These Terms of Use and your use of the Website are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and all federal laws of Canada applicable therein. The courts of the Province of Ontario shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms of Use or your use of the Website.
These Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement between you and My Tribute Gift Foundation with respect to the Website, except as we may explicitly agree otherwise in writing.. No delay or failure to exercise any right with respect to these Terms of Use shall be construed as a waiver by My Tribute Gift Foundation.
As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified. It is your responsibility to review these Terms of Use regularly.
