Charles Clifton Fuller (affectionately known to some as “Chuck,” “Mr. C.C.,” or “Brother Fuller”), 81, departed this life on April 27, 2021, after a long illness, at Forest Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center in Bel Air, MD. Charles was born on November 12, 1939 in Durham, North Carolina, as the son of the late Leroy Fuller and Vassie Sattlewhite. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Dolores Utley, and his nephew, Lamont Utley. Charles was educated in the Durham Public School system. Upon graduating from high school, Charles enlisted in the United States Marines and became a supply sergeant, where he served for several years. He would later join the U.S. Army as a Unit Supply Specialist and a Storage Specialist for about 15 and a half years, which included a stint in the Vietnam War. In the late 1960s, Charles was stationed in Parris Island, South Carolina when he met Diane Dewberry. On January 27, 1969, Charles and Diane were united in holy matrimony in Savannah, GA, at the Chatham County Courthouse. Charles’s military career took him all over the world, including Stuttgart, Germany with his young children and his wife. In 1977, Charles was transferred to Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Maryland. While stationed at APG, Charles was promoted to Sergeant First Class (SFC). After serving 22 years of military active duty, Charles retired from the U.S. Army in 1981. Charles was a man of many hobbies; in his younger years he played racquetball, was a member of a bowling league, and he loved his metal detector. He enjoyed visiting old civil war battlegrounds, hunting and building an impressive coin collection of rare coins. Charles did not believe in being idle; he believed there was always something a person could do for the betterment of themselves. Charles was a strong provider and leader of his family. In his quest to be a better man, he became a Mason while living in Germany. When he was stationed in Aberdeen, he continued his devotion as a Mason and joined the Jessie J. Shanks Lodge No. 137. In the 2000s, he began serving as secretary, and did so faithfully until he had to relinquish his duties due to illness. After retiring from the military, Charles completed tractor trailing driving school and became owner and operator of his own truck. In this profession he traveled all over the United States, as he drove long distance for North American Van Lines and later Mayflower, for over ten years. Aside from working hard, in his younger days, Charles would regularly attend family reunions and other events in cities such as Philadelphia, PA, and Bronx, NY, where his sister resided. Career-wise, as he got a little older, he began driving locally for moving companies such as Ryder, JB Hunt, and Rite Aid. His tractor trailer driving career ended sometime in the early 2000s, upon his retirement from the road due to illness. Charles diligently dealt with several health issues and maintained an active lifestyle as secretary of the Jessie J. Shanks Lodge No. 137 while battling Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), complications of kidney disease, cancer, and heart disease. Charles spent many years on dialysis starting around 2015, using in-center hemodialysis as well as home dialysis for a short interim period. While facing these illnesses, on his good days, Charles enjoyed hunting with his metal detector for historical coins and other treasures, and liked to explore the stock market and learn about various investment strategies. He loved a good meal and could frequently be found “cheating” with fast food or snacks such as pork rinds and honey buns. Some of his favorites were okra, steak, chitterlings, barbecue, fried chicken, and fried fish. Upon retirement, he loved relaxing in his recliner, watching the afternoon judge shows, Seinfeld reruns, and television shows such as Shark Tank. He collected many DVDs and VHS tapes over the years and loved watching all sorts of movies. Charles was a devoted father, always instilling in his children to be the best of yourself in life, to save money, and to honor God. While not a regular member of any one particular church, Charles attended various apostolic and Methodist churches over the course of his life. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 52 years, Diane Fuller; children, Lisa Dewberry-Harris (Randy Harris) of Savannah, GA, Monica England of Savannah, GA, Teresa Fuller-Beasley (Roy Beasley) of Washington, D.C., Kevin Fuller, Marcus Fuller of Aberdeen, MD, Sherell Fuller (Rube Ahmed) of Greenbelt, MD, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. The family of the late Charles C. Fuller wishes to thank relatives and many friends for all acts of kindness and prayers extended to them during their time of sorrow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial charitable contributions be made to the National Kidney Foundation (https://www.kidney.org/) or the American Heart Association (https://www.heart.org/).

My Tribute Gift Foundation makes this online charitable giving portal web page MyTributeGift.org (the “Website”) available to you subject to your acceptance of and compliance with these terms of use (the “Terms of Use”). Your donation will be processed through My Tribute Gift Foundation for distribution to your selected charity. Your credit card transaction record will appear as My Tribute Gift Foundation. An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.
You warrant and represent that all information and materials you provide to My Tribute Gift Foundation, through the Website or otherwise, are accurate and truthful and do not violate third party rights. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL MY TRIBUTE GIFT FOUNDATION OR ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, SERVICE PROVIDERS, AND AGENTS (THE "FOUNDATION PARTIES") BE LIABLE FOR ANY: (i) INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, COMPENSATORY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; (ii) DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF INCOME, LOSS OF PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF DATA OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY; (iii) CLAIMS OF THIRD PARTIES; OR (iv) OTHER PECUNIARY LOSS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OF USE, THE WEBSITE OR ANY LINKED SITE. Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.

As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified.
