Graesyn Lawrence Spiers born June 9th, 1994. Graesyn tragically passed away on February 29, 2020 at the young age of 25 while furthering his studies in Guitar at the University of Louisville, Kentucky. Graesyn was attending their Master’s program on a Graduate Service Award Scholarship. He now joins his baby sister Elle Morgan Fina who passed away in 2012 and his Great Grandparents Virginia and Paul Pillsbury in Heaven. Graesyn previously studied at the University of Arizona after receiving an Academic Scholarship. Graesyn graduated from the University of Arizona in May 2017, where he received his Bachelor of Music in Performance with an emphasis in classical guitar while studying under Tom Patterson. An exemplary student, he graduated Cum Laude, with Honors. During his studies at the Fred Fox School of Music and Bolton Guitar studio at the University of Arizona, Graesyn was the prize winner of both the Wolfe and the Scheffer Competitions. Additionally, he was awarded a scholarship at Domaine Forget in Canada, where he studied classical Guitar. Passionate in music, he spent time studying and playing with the classical guitarist, David Russell, who is widely known for his near flawless tone and diverse repertoire, is one of the most distinguished and accomplished classical guitarist in the world and won a Grammy Award for best instrumental soloist in 2015. Graesyn also proudly studied Classical Guitar with Sergio Odair Assad who is a talented Brazilian guitarist, composer and arranger who received a Grammy Award for best contemporary compositions in 2008. Prior to attending the University of Arizona, Graesyn graduated from Canyon Del Oro High School with Honors. In his free time, Graesyn taught guitar to several students privately, in both Tucson and Kentucky. He worked at Guitar Center teaching the art of music. Ever so talented and committed to his love of music, Graesyn learned the art of tuning the Steinway Piano, a skill that for most struggle a lifetime to achieve. Dr. Mattingly at the University of Louisville described Graesyn’s beautiful nature best. He said, “Graesyn’s presence was not merely witnessed, but felt. His emotional and kinetic energy was rich with life’s full spectrum and potential expression. For this, among many other reasons, we are all fortunate to have known him. Graesyn shined brightly among us in brilliant color. As a teacher, I learn from my students, and while Graesyn has transcended this world, we are all still learning from him.” One thing Graesyn taught us is his unwavering bravery to be vulnerable and to take risks. Graesyn is a unique piece of our musical fabric and he will continue to leave his lasting impression on us all. His compassion and love was unmatched and he will be greatly missed by many. May he Rest In Peace both now and forevermore. Graesyn Lawrence Spiers is survived by his loving Mother, Tiffany Huffman-Spiers, Esq., Father, Lawrence Earl Spiers, Jr., Captain with the Tucson Fire Department, Step-Mother, Laughlin Hoskinson, Grandparent’s Ricky Lee Huffman and Nancy Huffman, Gloria Jean Garrett, Charlie and Sharon Schaefer, and Kelton Glasscock Sr., his Aunts and Uncles, Christopher Raymond Huffman, Kelton Glasscock, Jr. and Sara Glasscock, John David and Sheena Love, Charles and Michelle Spiers, Rachelle Spiers, Joy and David Norman, Sandy and Michael Collins, Kristi Elizabeth Kribbs, Darlyng Caballero, Clint and Leah Hallman, Diane and Ross Jones, Laurie Garrett, Betsy McKenna, April Messer and many more cousins, friends, and countless others whose lives were greatly touched by him. My Tribute Gift Foundation makes this online charitable giving portal web page MyTributeGift.org (the “Website”) available to you subject to your acceptance of and compliance with these terms of use (the “Terms of Use”). An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.
You warrant and represent that all information and materials you provide to My Tribute Gift Foundation, through the Website or otherwise, are accurate and truthful and do not violate third party rights. Scope of Limitations and Disclaimers. Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.
If in any part of these Terms of Use is held, by a court of competent jurisdiction, to be invalid or unenforceable, such part of these Terms of Use shall be eliminated to the extent permitted in that jurisdiction, for purposes of that jurisdiction, and the remaining Terms of Use shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
These Terms of Use and your use of the Website are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and all federal laws of Canada applicable therein. The courts of the Province of Ontario shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms of Use or your use of the Website.
These Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement between you and My Tribute Gift Foundation with respect to the Website, except as we may explicitly agree otherwise in writing.. No delay or failure to exercise any right with respect to these Terms of Use shall be construed as a waiver by My Tribute Gift Foundation.
As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified. It is your responsibility to review these Terms of Use regularly.
