David T. Tokarchick, 80, of Salem Street, Port Ewen, Town of Esopus, NY, died Sunday, March 20th, 2022 at HealthAlliance Hospital, Broadway Campus.
He was born in Simpson, PA on August 2nd, 1941, a son of the late Paul and Amelia (Washeleski) Tokarchick.
David was employed as an electronics specialist for the US Army Depot in Tobyhanna, PA, retiring March 2, 1994. He was also employed by Heart Chevrolet following his move to Port Ewen to live with his brother Joseph in 1999.
He enjoyed driving his Dodge Challengers, which he always insured were meticulously detailed. He also enjoyed participating in and running many car shows in the area. He loved all animals, especially his dog, Lady.
He was a member of AA, where he made many dear friends along his journey.
David is survived by his brother, Joseph F. Tokarchik of Port Ewen, and three loving nieces, Paula Lynn, Amelia and Cristina, as well as many great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Paula Connors, and brother-in-law, Terry Connors.
The family will receive friends at the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:30 am, thence to Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Port Ewen for The Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 pm, Fr. Arthur F. Rojas, celebrant, and Fr. Marc Oliver, concelebrant.
Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
