Raycraft, William Theodore 1928 - 2021 After a long and fulfilling life, William T. Raycraft passed away peacefully at The Riverine on Thursday, February 4. Son of the late William and Madeline Raycraft and brother of the late Hazel O’Connor and Sylvia Lovelock. Husband to the late Rowena (Milligan). Proud father of Gary (Cheryl) Mississauga, Gayle Johnson (Guy) Napanee, and Jane (Jorge) Britannia Beach, B.C. Loving grandfather of Elise (Noe), William, Richard, Meghan-Annie, Madelaine and Gilmour. He will be missed by great grandchildren Noah and Nicholas, plus many other extended family. William’s teenage years were spent on the farm in Morven, but at age 18, he walked across the fields to hitch a ride to Dupont in Kingston, where he was immediately hired. After working at Dupont for 22 years and rising through the ranks to become a day supervisor, when re- structuring hit, he followed some friend’s advice and left to begin a career in real estate in 1971. After 2 years working with Don Hunter, he completed his broker’s license and started Raycraft Real Estate Co. Bill loved working in real estate and had a hand in developing the Napanee Industrial Park. He also developed a subdivision in Morven and another in Napanee. At it’s height, Raycraft R.E. had offices in Napanee, Verona and Northbrook employing upwards of 20 people. During these years, he took an active role in the Kingston & Area R. E. Association serving as President in 1984. Throughout his lifetime he was an active Lion’s Club member, always involved in their community events and beyond. He took on many roles including President, Zone Chair 1965-66, and was awarded a life membership in 1989. He and Rowena traveled to many International Conventions in Canada and the U.S. While leading the local Lion’s Club, he spearheaded their fundraising and support for the establishment of the L & A General Hospital. His support for the hospital never left and his major donation led to the foyer of the hospital being named “The Wm Raycraft and Family Atrium”. William was also involved over his lifetime in supporting his church and community, serving on a wide range of committees at Trinity United and serving 1 term as a town councillor. Although always busy with work and philanthropy, Bill made sure he had time for family & fun. Many happy summers were spent at the cottage on Beaver Lake, which started as 2 small cabins and grew from there. At the age of 40, Bill took up downhill skiing, learning the ropes at the Nacona Ski Hill in Strathcona. He loved to ski and skied mountains from Quebec to B.C. and his favourite, Colorado. He kept skiing into his 70’s. In the 1980’s Bill developed a love for boating and in his cruiser, the ‘Will-Row”, he enjoyed travelling up and down the Trent and Rideau Canals with family and friends. This love of boating led to a move to the Long Reach in Prince Edward County. He renovated the Spanish style house on the water, and loved his lawn, his garden, his neighbours and his boats. Throughout his life he loved to travel and early on found cruises enjoyable, starting with a family cruise in 1963 on the SS United States. He and Rowena enjoyed many more cruises and traveled widely. After her death he finally took a cruise to the Holy Land. In his later years he spent many happy winters at his residence in Zephyr Hills, Florida. His last years were spent at the Riverine where he continued to enjoy life, especially any musical entertainment. Donations in his memory may be made to the Lennox & Addington General Hospital Foundation. A Private family Funeral Service will be held at the Wartman Funeral Home - Napanee Chapel with interment at Morven Cemetery. A public Celebration of Life will be held when conditions permit. My Tribute Gift Foundation makes this online charitable giving portal web page MyTributeGift.org (the “Website”) available to you subject to your acceptance of and compliance with these terms of use (the “Terms of Use”). Your donation will be processed through My Tribute Gift Foundation for distribution to your selected charity. Your credit card transaction record will appear as My Tribute Gift Foundation. An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.
You warrant and represent that all information and materials you provide to My Tribute Gift Foundation, through the Website or otherwise, are accurate and truthful and do not violate third party rights. Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.

As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified.
