Kathleen R. Jennings, age 81, resident of Syracuse, formerly of Pulaski passed away Saturday at Iroquois Nursing Home in Syracuse. Kathleen was born July 24, 1939 in Albany, the daughter of Herbert and Dorothy Rigney Reilly. She graduated from Vincentian Institute High School in Albany in 1957. She earned her bachelor’s degree from St. Rose College in Albany in 1961 and her master’s degree from SUNY Oswego. Kathleen was married to Rodney Jennings on August 22, 1964 and he passed away June 23, 1991. She resided in Pulaski from 1967 until 2001 when she moved to the Syracuse area. She was employed by the APW School District at Altmar Elementary as an elementary teacher for 20 years, retiring in 1999. Kathleen was a member of Christ Our Light Parish in Pulaski and Holy Cross in Dewitt. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and a Religious Education instructor for many years. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, International HonoraryOrganization for Women Educators. She served on the Springbrook Apartments Board of Directors in Pulaski and was a longtime volunteer instructor and EMT at NOCA.
Surviving, are one daughter, Dorrie (George) Darcy of Dewitt, four sons, Rod W. Jennings of Liverpool, Jack C. (Melisa) Jennings of Pulaski, Tim Jennings (Stacey Geer) of Oneonta and Tom (Keirsten) Jennings of Pulaski, one daughter in-law, Janine Jennings of North Carolina, four sisters, Geraldine Bresan of Cinnaminson, NJ, Patricia Richardson of Albany, NY, Eileen McGrath of Mt. Holly, NC and Marsha Miller of Greenfield Center, NY, one brother, Herbert Reilly of Voorheesville, NY and 10 grandchildren, Ryland, Lauren, Kailyn, Natalie, Claire, Will, Megan, Caroline, Liam and Kieran. Kathleen was predeceased by two brothers, Charles and Thomas Reilly.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, April 29th at Christ Our Light Parish, 23 Niagara Street, Pulaski with burial in Pulaski Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski.
