Harvey L. Ackley, age 96, resident of Parish, passed away Christmas Day at Crouse Irving Hospital in Syracuse. Harvey was born in Mexico, NY, on August 2, 1925, the son of Wes and Gladys Ackley. He lived most of his life in Pulaski until his marriage to Venita Murphy Ackley in 1985, when he moved to Parish. Harvey was the Clerk of the Works for several new and remodeled schools in the area including, APW, Camden and his last employment at Rome, RFA, in 1985.
Surviving are his wife, Venita, one son, Kevin (Sherry) Ackley of Pulaski, one daughter Kathy Perry of Arlington Heights, IL, three stepdaughters, Deborah (David) Vecchio and Shelia (Carl) Dayger both of Parish and Tammy Yoevinski of Auburn, one stepson, Walter (Marti) Rice of Parish, one sister, Arlea Farley of Jamesville, 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one daughter, Linda Kitchen in 1990 and his brother Ted of Michigan in 2020.
A graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 29th at Pleasant Lawn Cemetery in Parish followed by a luncheon at the Parish Fire Hall. Arrangements by Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski.
