We were sorry to hear of Uncle Billy's passing. Our deepest condolences to Auntie Emily and the Girls. I remember talking to Uncle Billy on the phone after Anna and I had just returned from Cornwall. I told him that I saw a Royal Navy assault ship when we passed through Plymouth, which was called HMS Ocean. He said, "I was on an aircraft carrier called HMS Ocean during the Korean War." I replied, "I know, that's why am telling you." He didn't know that I would know something like that. But I knew, because my Dad would often talk about Uncle Billy.... and Uncle Bobby and Auntie Jessie and all the cousins and all the Aunts and Uncles living in the same street in Cowcaddens. They all lived extremely colorful lives and were strong people because of that tough existence. I tried to watch the video but I couldn't make it through yet. The first line was something like, "A Life Well Lived." I thought that was very appropriate. Thomas and Anna Weir and the Girls.

Weir, William May 23, 1932 - January 17, 2022 Billy passed away peacefully at Headwaters Health Care Centre on Monday, January 17, 2022 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of Emily Weir; devoted father to Linda Welsh, Julie Roberts (James), Pauline Weatherbee (Kevin), Elizabeth Weir-Cowley (Wayne) and Karen Farace (Matteo); cherished grandad to Sharon (Colin), Donna (Willie), Amanda (Jason), Kevin (Jacquelin), William (Marissa), Emily (Kenny), Miranda, Robert (Alexa), Derek, Jake and Ethan; dearly loved great-grandad to Archie, Emma, Ariel, Nate, Kevin, Jax and Shiloh. Billy will also be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends here, in the U.K. and the U.S.A.. Billy was born in Glasgow, Scotland and immigrated to Canada in 1966. He was an upholsterer by trade but mainly worked in the Aircraft Industry. He was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion for over 50 years. Billy was a Korean War Veteran and served in the British Army. He was also a life member of the Masonic Lodge and the Bramalea Rangers Football Club. A Private Family Service will take place at Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. and can be viewed on Billy's page of the website marked as Webcasting. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Dufferin County or Headwaters Health Care Foundation. A tree will be planted in memory of William in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com

My Tribute Gift Foundation makes this online charitable giving portal web page MyTributeGift.org (the “Website”) available to you subject to your acceptance of and compliance with these terms of use (the “Terms of Use”). An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.
You warrant and represent that all information and materials you provide to My Tribute Gift Foundation, through the Website or otherwise, are accurate and truthful and do not violate third party rights. Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.

The courts of the Province of Ontario shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms of Use or your use of the Website.
These Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement between you and My Tribute Gift Foundation with respect to the Website, except as we may explicitly agree otherwise in writing.. As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified.
