Ruth Edith Eberly (nee Everets) passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 9, 2022 in her 96th year. Ruth is now reunited with our father, Walter, in heaven. Cherished mother to Judy, Jim (Maureen), Barry, Wayne (Ron) and David. Grandmother to Karen, Coleen, Kevin, Christopher, Matthew, Virginia and Melissa. Great-grandmother to Charlie, Kiera, Lily, Atticus, Samuel, Morgan, James and Andrew. Sister of Louise Yeates. Ruth is pre-deceased by her parents, Wilfred Jacob Everets and Olive Morschfelder, brothers Glen, Jim, Bryce, Donald, sister Faith Snively and son-in-law Bob Hoover. After Ruth married Walter, they lived for over 50 years in Stevensville, Ontario on a 50-acre farm, just down the road from the original Eberly homestead, surrounded by family and lifelong friends. Ever gracious and strong in her faith, Ruth was a long-time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Snyder, Ontario. A leader of the Ladies Aid, she was an avid quilter, and helped with preparing food at St John’s for funerals, marriages, anniversaries and other special occasions. Mom knitted teddy bears, sewed Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, Holly Hobby dolls and made innumerable Barbie clothes. When the kids were lucky, she baked pies, affectionately called “seldom” by her husband and the children. After Walter’s passing in 2004, Ruth moved to Caledon, Ontario and lived with Jim and Maureen, making fast friends with Jean Wilson, another octogenarian, who lived just down the road. With Jean, Ruth played cards and even square danced at the local community centre. She enjoyed watching Gaither Gospel Hour at home. Ruth then lived with Barry in Ridgeway, Ontario for a number of years, once again attending St. John’s before she decided to finally “retire” and moved to the Maple Lodge Retirement residence in Simcoe, Ontario, near Judy. Our mother was family-oriented and thoroughly enjoyed visits with family and friends, especially gatherings attended by her nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Services, 772 Ridge Road North, Ridgeway, Ontario on Sunday March 13, 2022 from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 6 pm to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 3837 Netherby Road, Snyder Ontario on Monday March 14th with a 1-hour viewing at 1 pm followed by a 2 pm service and internment. All attending will be required to wear face masks and respect social distancing. A special thank you to Stepan, Paula and the staff of Maple Lodge Retirement Residence, Simcoe as well as the doctors, nurses & staff at Norfolk General Hospital. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Snyder and/or The Canadian Cancer Society. “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.” JOHN 14: 1 - 3

My Tribute Gift Foundation makes this online charitable giving portal web page MyTributeGift.org (the “Website”) available to you subject to your acceptance of and compliance with these terms of use (the “Terms of Use”). An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.
You warrant and represent that all information and materials you provide to My Tribute Gift Foundation, through the Website or otherwise, are accurate and truthful and do not violate third party rights. Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.
If in any part of these Terms of Use is held, by a court of competent jurisdiction, to be invalid or unenforceable, such part of these Terms of Use shall be eliminated to the extent permitted in that jurisdiction, for purposes of that jurisdiction, and the remaining Terms of Use shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
These Terms of Use and your use of the Website are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and all federal laws of Canada applicable therein. The courts of the Province of Ontario shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms of Use or your use of the Website.
These Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement between you and My Tribute Gift Foundation with respect to the Website, except as we may explicitly agree otherwise in writing.. No delay or failure to exercise any right with respect to these Terms of Use shall be construed as a waiver by My Tribute Gift Foundation.
As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified. It is your responsibility to review these Terms of Use regularly.
