C’est avec profonde tristesse que nous annonçons le décès d’Armidas « Midas » Lefebvre, à l’âge de 81 ans, à l’Hôpital Sensenbrenner, le 4 août 2023. Midas était un grand chasseur et pêcheur. Il a travaillé de nombreuses années pour le Ministère des Richesses naturelles, où il a occupé plusieurs postes. L’hiver, Midas était gestionnaire de la pente de ski de Moonbeam, où il était connu affectueusement par tous les jeunes comme le « Bonhomme avec le chapeau de poil ». L’été, Midas était le gestionnaire du parc provincial de Moonbeam également. Midas était également fermier et un très bon jardinier; il y avait toujours de grandes quantités de bons légumes à la fin de l’été. Midas était un homme très sage, drôle, chaleureux et patient. Il aimait beaucoup conter des blagues et rire. Midas a été parent nourricier pendant 25 ans, en accueillant 360 enfants dans son foyer au fil des ans. À sa retraite, il a fait beaucoup de chasse et de pêche; et voyageant sur l’ensemble du Canada, avec son épouse depuis 30 ans, Nicole. Midas aimait jouer aux cartes et passer du temps avec sa famille. Midas laisse dans le deuil son épouse, Nicole Talbot; ses enfants : Bryan Lefebvre (Marie-Josée) de Moonbeam, Crystal Simard (Armand) d’Alfred et Danny Talbot (Jelena) d’Orléans; neuf petits-enfants : Anthony Girard (Devyn), Christopher et Jennifer Lefebvre, Midas et Sampson Simard, Alec, Cassie, Mathieu et Maxime Talbot; sa sœur Teena Siple (Lorne) et sa belle-sœur Cécile Lefebvre, ainsi que plusieurs nièces, neveux, cousines et cousins. Midas fut prédécédé par sa première épouse Norma (Lebedoff) Lefebvre, ses parents Télésphore « Ted » et Evelyne (St-Germain) Lefebvre, ses frères Victor Lefebvre et Michel Lefebvre, ainsi que ses sœurs Louise « Dolly » (Lefebvre) Levesque, Amanda (Lefebvre) Simard, Octavia « Tivy » (Lefebvre) MacFarlane et Cécile (Lefebvre) Désormeaux. Midas reposera au Salon funéraire Guenette le jeudi 10 août 2023, de 14 h à 16 h et de 19 h à 21 h. Les funérailles auront lieu le vendredi 11 août 2023, à 10 h 30, à l’église Nativité-de-Marie à Moonbeam. L’inhumation de ses cendres suivra au cimetière de Moonbeam également. La famille tient à remercier le personnel de l’Hôpital Sensenbrenner et du Foyer Extendicare Kapuskasing pour les merveilleux soins offerts à Midas au cours de la dernière année. With great sadness, we announce the death of Armidas “Midas” Lefebvre, at the age of 81 years, at Sensenbrenner Hospital, on August 4, 2023. Midas was an avid hunter and fisherman. He worked for many years for the Ministry of Natural Resources where he held different positions. During the winter, he managed the ski hill in Moonbeam, where he was affectionately known by all the children as the “man in the fur hat.” During the summer, Midas managed the provincial park, also in Moonbeam. Midas was also a farmer and a great gardener; there was always plenty of good vegetables at the end of the summer. He was a very wise, funny, and loving man. Midas loved to joke around, play pranks, and laugh. Midas was a foster parent for 25 years, welcoming 360 children in his home over the years. When he retired, he did lots of hunting, fishing, and travelling all over Canada with his wife of 30 years, Nicole. Midas loved to play cards and spend time with hid family. Midas leaves in mourning his wife, Nicole Talbot; his children: Bryan Lefebvre (Marie-Josée) of Moonbeam; Crystal Simard (Armand) of Alfred; and Danny Talbot (Jelena) of Orleans; nine grandchildren: Anthony Girard (Devyn), Christopher and Jennifer Lefebvre, Midas and Sampson Simard, Alec, Cassie, Mathieu and Maxime Talbot; his sister, Teena Siple (Lorne); and his sister-in-law Cécile Lefebvre, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his first wife, Norma (Lebedoff) Lefebvre; his parents, Télésphore “Ted” and Evelyne (St-Germain) Lefebvre; his siblings: Victor Lefebvre, Michel Lefebvre, Louise “Dolly” (Lefebvre) Levesque, Amanda (Lefebvre) Simard, Octavia “Tivy” (Lefebvre) MacFarlane, and Cécile (Lefebvre) Désormeaux. Midas will be resting at the Guenette Funeral Home on Thursday August 10, 2023, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday August 11, 2023, at the Nativité-de-Marie church in Moonbeam, followed by the interment of his ashes at the Moonbeam cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Sensenbrenner Hospital and at Extendicare Kapuskasing for the wonderful care he received over the last year. The family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society of Canada as expressions of sympathy.

My Tribute Gift Foundation makes this online charitable giving portal web page MyTributeGift.org (the “Website”) available to you subject to your acceptance of and compliance with these terms of use (the “Terms of Use”). Your donation will be processed through My Tribute Gift Foundation for distribution to your selected charity. Your credit card transaction record will appear as My Tribute Gift Foundation. An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.

Indemnity. As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified.
