Rev. Alma Dobson transitioned peacefully at Home on Thursday, September 8, 2022 A longtime resident of Atlantic City, Alma was born on March 16, 1938, in Salem, NJ. She was predeceased by: her parents, Maxi and Lester Young; siblings, Maxine Morris, Harry Young, Charles Young, Jean Darnaby, Joseph Young, Byron Young; and her husband, Theodore Dobson, Jr.
She worked for Atlantic City Board of Education as a teacher, reading specialist and administrator, she retired in 1993. Alma later attended seminary and became a United Methodist minister. She was the senior pastor at several Churches and found her way back to Atlantic City to serve as the Assistant Pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church, where she retired from ministry.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Andrea Bryant (Michael), Sherryl Blackwell, and Byron Dobson (Cornelia); grandchildren, Amber Boose, Sanatoria Boose, Isaiah Dobson-Blackwell, Anthony Dobson, Karrington Dobson, and Chance Dobson; great-grandchildren, Jazlynn, Isaiah, Abagail, Natalie, Josiah, and Kenneth; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends
A Homegoing services will be 11AM, September 15, 2022 at Asbury United Methodist Church 1215 Pacific Ave., Atlantic City, where friends may visit from 9-11AM.
