Rocco Sellitti, 92, of Riverdale, passed away on June 9, 2021.
Born in Paterson, Rocco was the son of the late Benjamin and Maria Carmela Sellitti. He married Virginia Marziali and the couple had four children. Rocco valued education and earned his master's degree in education from Rutgers University. He began his teaching career at Franklin Avenue Middle School in Franklin Lakes and retired as a professor at William Paterson University. He was an avid world traveler who visited Russia, China, Ireland, and countless other countries.
Rocco is survived by his daughters, Donna Tromans and her husband Patrick, and Pamela Lynn and her husband John; and his brother, Rudolph Sellitti. He was predeceased by his sons, Rocco Jr. and Benjamin; his wife, Virginia; and his brother, Andrew.
Visiting hours will be held from 11:00 am to 12:45 pm Monday, June 14 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A graveside service will be held at 1:45 pm at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
