HARDING, Judy Ann (Nee MacDonald) June 23, 1949 – January 26, 2021 Passed away sadly and peacefully at home after a courageous battle with Cancer, with her husband, son, and daughter by her side holding her hands. Proud Mother of son Jason (Rebecca), and daughter Lindsay (the late Donnie, 2020). Proud “Nanny” to Granddaughters Charlee and Ruby. Much loved by her brother-in-law Kevan (Diana) and nephew’s Chad and Josh. Predeceased by her parents Murdo MacDonald, and mother Pearl (nee Magwood) of Sherbrooke, Quebec. Also predeceased by her brother Charles (Chuck) MacDonald and his surviving wife Maria, of Montreal. Judy was a fighter until the very end. Judy had many wonderful traits with an exceptionally warm heart, and she was a very loving person. Not surprisingly, Judy chose to be a Nurse. She started her successful Nursing career by graduating from The Sherbrooke Hospital School of Nursing in 1970. With her marriage to Brian, Judy moved to Montreal and worked as a Pediatric Nurse at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. Then, with Brian’s company transfer to Kitchener, Judy again continued nursing at the KW Hospital in Pediatrics. Judy loved newborns and really enjoyed meeting and helping new moms with their babies. Also, Judy liked and respected seniors which drew her to work in several Long-Term Care Facilities in Kitchener, where she retired. While being a caring mom and having a busy nursing career, Judy founded the Kitchener chapter of Citizens Concerned with Crime against Children (4C’s) in 1981, which is now known as the Child Witness Centre. This organization’s focus is to prevent children from exploitation. This organization was started after Judy and Brian saw a news coverage on CKCO News about a perpetrator receiving only a 3-year jail sentence for the sexual assault against 2 female minors. That night, Judy drew up a petition and went door to door in the pouring rain and started the accumulation of 40,000 signatures in only a mere two weeks. Judy was then invited to make a presentation to the Honorable Jean Chretien, Minister of Justice, to provide the results of the petition and discuss the issues. Working with a lawyer, her team, and the Ministry, changes were made to the Child Welfare Act which are still in law today. Judy was one of ten recipients of the national “Citizen of the Year” award in 1996. This award was presented by the Honorable Monique Begin, then Minister of Health. Judy was commonly known to friends and family as “Mrs. Christmas” because she adored the season and decorated her entire home in a different theme and tree in each and every room. Also, Judy wrote a Christmas poem with her daughter Lindsay every year for decades to send to close friends and family. Judy, Brian, Jason and Lindsay vacationed on Cape Cod for 38 summers and made countless friends. Needless to say, in this lengthy time span, Judy loved the beach, Cape Cod, and everything it had to offer. Judy’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 9-10:00 am at the Henry Walser Funeral Home. A private family service will take place in the chapel of the funeral home at 10:30 am on Saturday followed by a private family interment at Williamsburg Cemetery. Those wishing to attend Judy’s visitation prior to the service must register at www.henrywalser.com or by calling the funeral home at 519-749-8467. Face masks are mandatory. Your donation will be processed through My Tribute Gift Foundation for distribution to your selected charity. Your credit card transaction record will appear as My Tribute Gift Foundation. An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.
You warrant and represent that all information and materials you provide to My Tribute Gift Foundation, through the Website or otherwise, are accurate and truthful and do not violate third party rights. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL MY TRIBUTE GIFT FOUNDATION OR ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, SERVICE PROVIDERS, AND AGENTS (THE "FOUNDATION PARTIES") BE LIABLE FOR ANY: (i) INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, COMPENSATORY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; (ii) DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF INCOME, LOSS OF PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF DATA OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY; (iii) CLAIMS OF THIRD PARTIES; OR (iv) OTHER PECUNIARY LOSS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OF USE, THE WEBSITE OR ANY LINKED SITE. Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.

As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified.
