David Daniel DeFir, age 70, of Dermott AR, died July 29, 2022. He was born on July 28, 1952, to his parents Robert Moore DeFir Sr and Laura Ester Slaughter DeFir. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church of Watson, AR and worked as an equipment salesman for most of his life. He was a Mason, and enjoyed hunting, auctions, and socializing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Walter Henry DeFir, Robert Moore DeFir Jr, Kilbourne Arthur “Slim” DeFir; and two sisters, Norma Marie Burton, and Louise Bowers.
David is survived by three daughters; Drew Danielle DeFir Mercer (Farron) of Rison, AR, Lela Elizabeth McDougald (Marcus) of Jersey AR, and Ashly Ann Morgan (Chris) of Monticello; one son, Charlie Martin of Holcomb, MS; two brothers, Jim DeFir of Selma AR, and William “Preacher” DeFir (Nancy) of Dermott, AR; four sisters, Wanda Gail Williams of Tyler, TX, Virginia Grace Acord of Montgomery, AL, Gwen DeFir of McGehee, AR, and Sheila Diane Maddox (Claude) Dermott, AR; four grandchildren, Maci Bell Martin, Talan Blake Mercer, Harper Alyse Mercer, and Farron Theodore “Theo” Mercer; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on August 6, 2022, at Bishop King Funeral Home in Lake Village AR, from 1:00-2:00 pm with service following at 2:00 pm with Roger Pierce officiating. Burial will follow at Selma Cemetery under the direction of Bishop-King Funeral Home.
