Deborah "Debbi" K. LeVan Miller, 70, of Middletown, passed away Friday, March 25, 2022, in the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, with her loving husband by her side. Born in Harrisburg on June 27, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Peter E. and Mildred I. Ennis LeVan. A compassionate and caring person, it was only natural Debbi became a nurse in 1981 and worked for over 40 years in all aspects of health care from pediatrics to geriatrics, hospitals and nursing homes to hospice and home health care. Debbi most recently worked for the Visiting Nurses Association. With a passion for helping people, Debbi also enjoyed her job working with customers at Stephenson’s Flowers & Gifts on Jonestown Road in Colonial Park. A gifted seamstress and crafter, she previously owned and operated Gatherings, a former quaint gift and craft shop in the Historic Swatara Station, where just about everything sold was made by her and her family. In fall 2021 Debbi began selling her hand-made items as a vendor at 32nd Street Mercantile of Camp Hill. She enjoyed making pillow cases for “Heads at Ease” which sends hand-made pillowcases adorned with special messages to U.S. military personnel aboard ships. A very humble person, Debbi would make and deliver baskets of baked goods as well as flowers and craft baskets to people who had shown her kindness, or to those just needing a pick-me-up, and to first responders during the pandemic. She had a soft spot for children on Native American reservations, for whom she would prepare and ship boxes of school supplies. Debbi was a 1969 graduate of Lower Dauphin High School and a member of Stoverdale United Methodist Church. In her younger years, Debbi was in 4H where her love for horses grew. Debbi for a period lived and worked at Penn National helping care for race horses. Debbi also loved golden retrievers and always had one in her home. She enjoyed traveling and recently bought a camper to fulfill her dream of traveling and camping all over the United States with her husband. Debbi loved to dance and enjoyed music especially disco, soul, rhythm and blues and show tunes. She was a huge Philadelphia Eagles and Peyton Manning fan. Debbi found comfort in gardening; growing flowers, herbs and teas; spending time with her coy fish pond, and most of all being with family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Daniel C. Miller, whom she married on May 5, 1990; three sons, Christopher King husband of Missie of Manheim, Peter Toth of Hershey, and Philip Miller husband of Marissa of Palmyra; four grandchildren, Dylan King husband of Chrissy, Austin King fiancé of Amanda Vergara, Bree-Ann King, and James Miller; four great grandchildren, Sebastian, Mason, Isla and Everly King; two sisters, Patricia E. Heuser wife of Charles W. of State College, and Carole Ann Lankford wife of the late Otis of Carrolton, VA; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Debbi will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 11 a.m. in Stoverdale United Methodist Church, Middletown Road, Hummelstown, with her Pastor Scott R. Hover officiating. Interment will be in Paxtang Cemetery. Viewings will be held Friday, April 1, 2022 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, and on Saturday in the church from 10 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 150 Monument Road, Suite 100, Bala-Cynwyd, PA 19004; or to the American Cancer Society, PO Box, 897, Hershey, PA 17033. My Tribute Gift Foundation makes this online charitable giving portal web page MyTributeGift.org (the “Website”) available to you subject to your acceptance of and compliance with these terms of use (the “Terms of Use”). Your donation will be processed through My Tribute Gift Foundation for distribution to your selected charity. Your credit card transaction record will appear as My Tribute Gift Foundation. An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.
You warrant and represent that all information and materials you provide to My Tribute Gift Foundation, through the Website or otherwise, are accurate and truthful and do not violate third party rights. Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.
If in any part of these Terms of Use is held, by a court of competent jurisdiction, to be invalid or unenforceable, such part of these Terms of Use shall be eliminated to the extent permitted in that jurisdiction, for purposes of that jurisdiction, and the remaining Terms of Use shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
These Terms of Use and your use of the Website are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and all federal laws of Canada applicable therein. The courts of the Province of Ontario shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms of Use or your use of the Website.
These Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement between you and My Tribute Gift Foundation with respect to the Website, except as we may explicitly agree otherwise in writing.. No delay or failure to exercise any right with respect to these Terms of Use shall be construed as a waiver by My Tribute Gift Foundation.
As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified. It is your responsibility to review these Terms of Use regularly.
