Janice Peno

Janice M. Peno, 75, of the Town of Halfmoon, peacefully entered into eternal life at her residence on Wednesday, May 13, 2020. Born in Woodhaven, Long Island, New York, she was the daughter of the late Robert A. and Jeanette Marie Healy Thomas and was baptized at St. Mary Gate of Heaven Roman Catholic Church in Ozone Park, NY. She was a graduate of Elmont Memorial High School and earned two Associate Degrees and a Master in Accounting from the College of St. Rose in Albany. Janice has been employed at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Clifton Park as an Auditor for the past 15 years. She had previously been employed at Old World Provisions in Albany. She enjoyed reading, gardening, playing cards, earned a bowling achievements and computer/internet games, in particular POGO. Janice especially loved animals who unconditionally loved her in return, littleone and miss puss will surely miss her. Janice was a Third Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. She had attended the Fruitful Vine Christian Church in Country Knolls, Clifton Park, NY. She was predeceased by her loving husband Forrest “Jim” “Buzz” Peno on August 5, 2003 and missed him dearly every day since. Janice is the devoted mother of John T. (Eileen) Hollings and Lisa (Robert) Scopel, stepmother of J. Matthew (Colleen) Peno, Jill Marie Peno and the late Jeremy Scott Peno, sister of Richard Thomas, and the cherished “Grandma” of Brent Nickyle Andres and “RJ” Scopel, also survived by several nieces and nephews. Her family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to John Bulson & family, Pastor Ernest North and Don Hill for their support and love at this difficult time. Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted by Janice’s family to the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9 (Halfmoon) Clifton Park, NY 12065.
