Frederick Christian Horn
Frederick Christian Horn, of New Hope, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, June 1st, at Doylestown Hospital, following a brief illness. He was 72.
Born March 13th, 1951, in Feasterville-Trevose, and raised at Woodside Farm on Limekiln Road in Doylestown Township, he was the eldest son of Robert Andrew Horn and Elinor Ruth Hildebrand. He graduated in 1969 from Central Bucks High School, in Doylestown, and in 1973 from Trinity College, in Hartford, with a B.A. in Theater. He spent his early theater career at regional stages including Bucks County Playhouse, before shifting to public relations and advertising, including time at the Bucks County Conservancy and the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce. He spent the last 20 years of his advertising career as Vice President at Creative Marketing Alliance (CMA), in Princeton, NJ, before retiring in 2016.
He was a lifelong writer - receiving notice for his play Playing John Wilkes Booth - in addition to being a prolific and award-winning copywriter. He spent what little free time he had gardening and attending his sons’ theatrical adventures.
Christian was a dedicated husband and father. He is survived by his loving wife Melanie Pittner; his sons Tyler and wife Morgan Manfredi; Griffin; and Patrick and wife Jackie Schram, as well as his grandson Duncan and his brother, Andrew Horn. He was preceded in death by his youngest brother, David Horn.
The family will be holding a private memorial.
