Joyce Margaret DiVirgilio (née Squire) who died on September 4, 2021, was born to Margaret (née Gardner) Squire and Alec Squire on March 1, 1926 in Chiswick, Middlesex, England. Joyce was educated at Oswestry's Girl's High School and studied nursing at King's College Hospital in London. During World War II, encouraged by her mother to avoid the German bombings, Joyce returned to Oswestry where she made gun parts at a machine shop and worked at the Wynnstay Hotel, which was managed by her mother. While working at the Wynnstay Hotel she met and fell in love with Dominick “Dom” DiVirgilio. On October 11, 1945, a month after the war ended, Dom and Joyce married in England at the Oswestry Catholic Church. Soon after, along with thousands of war brides, Joyce traveled to the United States of America on a converted warship. Her mother eventually followed. Joyce and Dom had two sons - John (1947) and Michael (1948) - whom they deeply enjoyed and were incredibly proud of. For 35 years, Joyce worked at the Korell Company, later named the Outlet Barn, working her way from clerk to the administrative assistant to the company’s vice president. She retired in 1989 to care for Dom after he suffered a major stroke. Joyce’s devotion to Dom was clear as she cared for him until he passed in 2007 - and their love, and special bond, was evident throughout. During this time, Joyce also displayed remarkable balance, being sure to care for herself and her growing family. Family was most important to Joyce and she was happiest when her family was together; enjoying and loving each other. She delighted in being with her five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren - especially during annual family trips to Cape Cod, a favorite location of hers. She also loved her daughters-in-law very much and the spouses of her grandchildren. Joyce was also a loyal and devoted friend and was happy when helping others. She was an active volunteer around Mechanicville, serving as President of the Rosary Altar society, Vice President of the Senior Citizens, Treasurer of the Mechanicville-Stillwater walk for cancer (helping to raise $325K during her time), President of the Senior Dante club, and a member of the Catholic Daughters club and the Peters Purcell's Auxiliary. She was very active at church and served her community in countless other ways. Joyce is predeceased by her parents, Margaret and Alec Squire, her husband Dom DiVirgilio, her granddaughter-in-law, Danay DiVirgilio and great grandson Vitus Dominick Coreno. Joyce is survived by her sons and their spouses: John and Cindi DiVirgilio, and Michael and Karen DiVirgilio. She is survived by her grandchildren and their spouses: Denise and Jack McGonigal, Michael DiVirgilio, Leah and Bill Coreno, Cullene and Matt Bury, and Justin and Claudia DiVirgilio. She is also survived by her great grandchildren: Michael Coreno, David Coreno, Meara Bury, William Coreno, Jake Bury, Marcella DiVirgilio, Mackenzie Squeglia, Ananda DiVirgilio and Juliana DiVirgilio as well as her daughter in law Judy DiVirgilio. Joyce will be deeply missed by those who knew her. Calling Hours will be held Wednesday, Sept 8th from 4-7PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 10AM St. Paul's Church, 121 N Main St, Mechanicville, followed by burial alongside her husband at the Saratoga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mechanicville Stillwater Breast Cancer Walk, PO Box 5, Mechanicville, NY 12118 or National MS Society, PO Box #91891, Washington, D.C. 20090?.

My Tribute Gift Foundation makes this online charitable giving portal web page MyTributeGift.org (the “Website”) available to you subject to your acceptance of and compliance with these terms of use (the “Terms of Use”). Your donation will be processed through My Tribute Gift Foundation for distribution to your selected charity. Your credit card transaction record will appear as My Tribute Gift Foundation. An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.
You warrant and represent that all information and materials you provide to My Tribute Gift Foundation, through the Website or otherwise, are accurate and truthful and do not violate third party rights. Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.
If in any part of these Terms of Use is held, by a court of competent jurisdiction, to be invalid or unenforceable, such part of these Terms of Use shall be eliminated to the extent permitted in that jurisdiction, for purposes of that jurisdiction, and the remaining Terms of Use shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
These Terms of Use and your use of the Website are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and all federal laws of Canada applicable therein. The courts of the Province of Ontario shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms of Use or your use of the Website.
These Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement between you and My Tribute Gift Foundation with respect to the Website, except as we may explicitly agree otherwise in writing.. No delay or failure to exercise any right with respect to these Terms of Use shall be construed as a waiver by My Tribute Gift Foundation.
As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified. It is your responsibility to review these Terms of Use regularly.
