SPRAKERS - Walter P. Weaver, age 90, born in the Town of Palatine, went home to be with his LORD on November 8, 2021. He lived his entire life in Montgomery County. He graduated from Fort Plain High School in 1950 and was drafted into the United States Marine Corps on August 9, 1952. He fought with his fellow Marines of the 7th Battalion, 1st Marine Division during the Korean War as Private First Class, Heavy Weapons Machine Gunner. He was honorably discharged from the Marines on May 25, 1954. He was a machinist by trade. He worked most of his career for General Electric in Schenectady, retiring in 1992.
Walter married Jennie (Janczuk) Weaver nearly 66 years ago—remaining wholeheartedly devoted to her until his passing. Besides his wife, Jennie, he is survived by his two sons, Stephen Weaver, of Highland Lakes, NJ and Michael (Theresa) Weaver, of Sellersville, PA; his granddaughter, Kimberly (John) Saginario; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Aubrey; grandson, Kyle (Keri) Weaver; great-grandsons, Lincoln and Andrew (AJ) and Justin (Erika) Shultz; great-granddaughter, Elodie; granddaughter, Sara (Richard) Cadenas; and great-grandchildren, Victoria and Parker. He is also survived by his younger brother, Milton Weaver, of Fort Plain; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Ruth Christman; brother, Herbert Weaver; and his daughter-in-law, Nancy.
Walt faithfully attended the Christian Church of Charleston Four Corners. He loved his country and his family deeply. He had an encouraging word and welcoming smile for everyone he met. He talked about the Lord he loved, his family, his time in the military, the jobs he worked and the people he loved. Those who knew him will dearly miss his kind and gentle nature. He will be sincerely missed by everyone whose life he touched.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022, at the Christian Church of Charleston Four Corners with full military graveside honors following.
