Kevin Thomas Hilley, age 63, of Schuyler, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, after being stricken at his home and rushed to MVHS St. Elizabeth Campus. His passing occurred surrounded by the love and support of his family.
Born in Little Falls on March 27, 1959, Kevin was the son of the late William and Dorothy (Dillenbeck) Hilley. He was raised and educated locally and attended Utica schools.
On October 2, 1982, Kevin was wed to the former Mary Beth Cobb and they were blessed with almost 40 years of marriage. Together, they raised their sons and built a life based on trust, respect and above all, love.
In 1996, Kevin and Mary Beth relocated to Pigeon, Michigan where they lived, worked and made many friends and lasting relationships. Kevin’s working years were spent at Huron Castings as a heat treatment operator, before retiring in 2012 and coming back to Central New York.
In his spare time, Kevin was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed bird watching. He was very active in both the Frankfort and Schuyler Fire Departments, where he put others first, always willing to lend a helping hand. Above all else, he was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth; his two sons, Patrick and Tasha Hilley of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Matthew Hilley of Schuyler; his grandchildren, Ian Hilley, Evelyn Hilley, Alexander D’Entrone and Gabriella Engle; his brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Maria Hilley of New Hartford; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane and Tony Chimoune of Utica, Susan and David Witt of Cape Coral, Florida, and Cathy and Michelle Millard of Connecticut; along with many nieces and nephews.
