William Forth

William Theodore Forth affectionately known as "Lefty", departed this life on December 22, 2020, to be with his Savior, Allah. Lefty was born on February 10,1958, in Atlantic City, New Jersey to Emma Waters - Forth and William Austin. Lefty grew up in a large family with five sisters and one brother on the "Westside" of Atlantic City. He was nicknamed Lefty because he was left-handed. He graduated from Atlantic City High School in 1976. He was a gifted academic student and an incredibly talented basketball player. He was extremely popular and had a plethora of friends that admired his abilities. His gifts eventually took him to Wilberforce University in Ohio, where he played basketball and graduated Cum Laude in 1981. He earned a degree in Accounting. He was blessed with many talents and utilized his many skill sets throughout his professional career. In addition to becoming an accountant, he was an award-winning car salesman and more recently an HVAC specialist at Harrah's Casino from which he retired. Lefty loved the ocean. He was a brave and avid swimmer who rescued several adults and children from drowning. His favorite pastimes were fishing, boxing, playing basketball, playing the bongos and traveling. Lefty was a very generous soul, always wanting to help others. He would give you the shirt off his back. He was an upbeat and jovial soul who loved joking, telling stories and laughing with friends and family. If you ever met him; you never forgot him! Lefty was also a fashion forward guy who enjoyed wearing a three-piece suit and a fedora. He always looked like a Dapper Dan from head to toe. He loved seafood and made the best salmon. He always made sure you knew that his salmon was the BEST! The competitive nature within him never wanted to lose. Lefty was always up for an intellectual debate and ready for a challenge to show you his diverse wealth of knowledge. Not only was he intuitive but he enjoyed numbers and would always say that numbers told the story. Those who knew him appreciated the knowledge he shared. He was a special person that was loved by many and who will also be missed by many. Lefty is survived by: his mother, Emma Waters – Forth; life-long companion, Renee Martinez; daughters, Kerri J. Baldwin and Ayana Wylie – Forth; son, William Micaiah Wylie – Forth; stepson, Jamel Wylie; grandchildren, Jalen, Shilen, Korri and Syrus; siblings, Maria Forth -Barber, Janice Forth - Gilmore (Forrest), Cynthia Forth - Concepcion, Donald Forth, Kathy Forth - Monroe and Darlene Forth - Ellison (Benjamin); and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Arrangements are entrusted to Greenidge Funeral Homes, Inc., Atlantic City, where condolences maybe left at
