Virginia R. Schickler, age 81, longtime area resident of New Egypt, formerly of Queens, New York, passed away at home on Thursday, August 18, 2022. She was born on October 3, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Oswald and Virginia (nee Miller) Scheben. Virginia was a member of Fountain of Life Church located in Burlington. She worked as a secretary for ITT Inc. located in Manhattan, NY. Virginia enjoyed doing word searches, and reading mystery novels. She was a good soul, who always put others first. Virginia loved animals and especially her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law, daughter-in-law, and friend that will be deeply missed.
Virginia is predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Schickler; her parents, Oswald and Virginia Scheben; her brothers, Kenneth Scheben and Donald Scheben. She leaves behind her four children, David Schickler and partner Teresa Schuderi of Ocean Side, NY, Joseph Schicker and wife Chrsitina of Stratford, NJ; Theressa Howanich and husband Douglas of Barnegat, NJ, and Linda Schickler of New Egypt; her ten grandchildren, Kaitlyn and fiancé Danny, Chris, Rachel Mallon and husband Michael, Megan, Joey, Benjamin, Everly, Lucy, Elisabeth, and Eli; her great-grandson, Antony; her sister-in-laws, Joan Scheben of Long Island, NY, and Erica Scheben of Montana; her daughter-in-law, Jean Gunn and husband Thomas; and her four nephews.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a funeral service on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 1 PM at Tilghman Funeral Home located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 with interment to follow at Jacobstown Cemetery located on Schoolhouse Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562. Calling hours will be from 11 AM to 1 PM at the funeral home.
