John Abner Wells, age 95, of Cabot, formerly of Lake Village, passed away March 3, 2021 at Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System in Little Rock, AR. He was born to Elmer Vernon Wells and Leita Ferguson Wells on February 27, 1926, in Ashley County Arkansas.
John is preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers, James Wells, Layton Wells, Robert Wells, and George Wells.
John is survived by two daughters, Judy Wells of North Little Rock and Pam Wells Dolan and husband, Tracy of Cabot; two grandchildren, Andrew and Hannah Dolan; and a host of nieces, nephews along with a lifetime of friends.
John worked at Georgia Pacific Paper Mill in Crossett for most of his life. He was a US Army Veteran who served during WWII and the Korean War. He loved his family and was very devoted to his Lord and Savior. John was a very giving man that loved gardening and sharing the fruits of his labor with his neighbors and friends.
The family would like to say thank you to Bryant Wiley for serving as John’s caregiver and friend.
Pam & Judy would also like to say a special thank you to Aunt Betty & Uncle Gerald for the love, support, and assistance you have given to our Daddy through the years.
Pallbearers: Andrew Dolan, Tim Collins, Bryant Wiley, Jacob Smith, Mike Jones, and Logan Sheppeard. Honorary Pallbearers: Gerald Lauhon, Mike Caine, Randy Collins, Kevin Smith, Johnny Garrett, and Randy Moore.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm-2:00 pm on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Chicot Missionary Baptist Church, 744 Lakehall Rd, Lake Village, AR with Funeral Services at 2:00 pm with Bro. Jonathan Powers officiating. Burial will be in Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 765 Ashley Rd 70, Hamburg, Arkansas with Bro. David Powers officiating services under the direction Bishop-King Funeral Home of Lake Village, Arkansas.
